Only the Dead Found Real Peace With This New Resolution.

In my opinion and that of many average people of the world, the U.N. has met and issued another non conclusive Resolution which everyone expects will not solve the matter. The fact that all the major leaders, regardless of Arab or Western power could not get a cease fire in place until it was, and here is the key, accepted by someone they do not recognize, is why I believe my prior articles have been confirmed.

Of course they will say they had success and they will talk around the issue all day long but the fact is both sides accomplished nothing but killing and destruction. It is the average man on both sides that paid the price again. Why so negative concerning this cease fire? Well, certainly many who have this opinion hold out for hope of a real peace and certainly want a cease fire. However, it is not a stop to the killing that is what average people object to, it is the resolution of the issues which caused the killing and destruction which remain that most feel will remain unresolved by this action. It is the sad fact that even before it has been accepted by all and implemented many consider this as a rest period for rearming, regrouping and only a tentative peace, just waiting for one action to trigger a response and an escalation.

Lets go down the list of the real facts and events and consider why this opinion.

1- Hezbollah kills and captures Israel soldiers.

2- Israel demands unconditionally the return of the two soldiers and starts escalation.

3- Hezbollah says lets swap or we will meet force with force.

4- Israel demands the soldiers return and enforcement by Lebanon of the prior resolution 1559. Does anyone really believe this is anything more then a hollow piece of paper?

5- Hezbollah is an actual part of the Lebanese government and maintains favorable status in that nation. It evidently has a commanding position in the directing of the actions of that governement as witnessed as events unfolded. Just look to the agreement that required their ok . Lets keep in mind we are talking about a private army operating within a soverign nation. Do you think that would hold water here or in any free society?

6- The U.N. regretfully [another word for the Century] is in the opinion of many nothing more than, for lack of something better to identify them with, parking attendants or night watchman. If you see a problem call for help.

7- Do we average citizens really think Hezbollah will disarm and the Lebanese will implement the 1559 mandate?

8- Do we really think Syria and Iran will cease all support and re arming?

9- Do we really think that somewhere up the road there won’t be an escalation?

10 Do we really think anything was solved?

11- Do we really think anyone won in a clear sense of the definition of won.

12- Do we not suspect Israel will give up prisoners, land and other perks.

13- Do we not suspect tons of money will be poured into Lebanon to rebuild it. Rhetorically, will it be getting ready for the next round of destruction?

Well for the world the rhetoric will continue to speak about the wonderful working together of different nations to reach this agreement. Unfortunately, [the word of the century] tell that to the dead, maimed, homeless and starving. Both sides lost. Hezbollah showed how they will kill innocents. Innocents showed how they will approve of being used for a political gain. Israel showed that they did not have the might nor numbers to dislodge a guerrilla force [Did not the British learn in America’s own Revolution that an armed populace is hard to defeat]? Did we not learn in Vietnam and are we possibly now paying the price in Iraq? Finally, did they move one step closer in resolving the root cause of the conflict?

Personally, and in the hopes of many we prefer to be wrong and this peace work out for all. Lets consider what I feel substantiates in my opinion why there will never be peace until we humble ourselves and talk to all . We will continue in secret but are we to proud to bring it out around a table? I'm talking about Iran, Syria and Hezbollah the main antagonists. Many a person knows in their opinion its all about posturing. Rhetorically, let me ask you who does the dying while everyone waits for a solution and to see who is humble enough to budge?

To support this concept we should understand Mike Wallace just completed an interview with the Iranian leader who he stated “was a quite interesting fellow". Mr. Wallace is a Jew yet he was able to get into this society and gain an interview. Rhetorically, does that not suggest that until we stop all this posturing and sit down around a table together and try to work out a true peace we will continue to kill, maim and destroy each other in all ways?

So untill those who profess they are decent, faithful and peace loving people of the world, of all faiths, races, color and creed remove these terrorists [as one universal force for the good of all] we all will continue to bury our children and loved ones. If your for killing them all, until they are all gone, well look for the next batch to take their place. What goes around comes around. Maybe not today but most likely sometime up the road.

Your tittle kind of tells it all, Is this the only time we will find peace here on Earth. I don't have the answers, but I keep hoping maybe someday there will be an answer.

Thank you for your comment. I too hope and that is the purpose of my writing. When I teach the young I let them know the power of words in varied forms. If you reach one you will reach more and they can effect change. May you find peace for you and your loved ones.

The dead certainly did not find peace in this resolution,in fact they're probably spinning in their graves,as their ultimate sacrifice did not mean anything. It's a stalemate only ,as you said the real players will keep stiring the pot.

Thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated. I suspect you are correct in that their spiritual being now knows the folly of war. In all of my articles I try to address the truth and facts as many know it to be. Too bad that the world does not lack intelligence, just love and leadership.

If I understand items 5-14, words have already been used in an attempt to establish peace. They have failed. So why would more words make a difference? You assume both sides will listen to and accept the logic of a mediator from a culture that is foreign to them. I doubt it will happen in any of our lifetimes.

Your comments are appreciated. War has'nt worked since man began and there are two sides to every issue. I am perplexed as to where the words between all parties were used? Now you may be perfectly correct, words will not suffice to a determined enemy. However, when we totally eliminate all without any effort we automatically negate any possibilities. Perhaps their culture and desires are not that foreign as we percieve to a just peace? Sadly we can always kill.
