Mankind’s Innate Inability To Implement Who They Say They Are.

I have now come to the opinion that mankind is totally unable to save or help himself or anyone else. We realize this is why God sent his son. However, what I am talking about is not of eternal salvation but of earthly change. It is just not in our nature to change sufficiently to allow us to rise out of the hole and dark and into the light. Although we are consistently encouraged to strive for change and to be Born Again how difficult this is for most. So, God confirms, that without His mercy and love we are truly helpless. We can only depend on the Lord for that. This opinion I formed is as blatantly clear as the cleanest glass one can look through to see out at something. You are looking from within to outside and the reverse is also true. That this concept can not be recognized by most unless they examine themselves inwardly. Who are you, what your true goals and the reasons why you have those goals are the true answers as to who and what you are and why you do what you do. When the president speaks of "the biggest challenge facing" he does not consider what I am addressing but what he perceives and yet he actually emphasizes what I am addressing herein. It is not man as a creation, it is what man does with that creation.

Let me give you an example. Let us take current events of the day and I ask you to try and contemplate just what I am speaking to. The topic of illegal persons crossing into our country is a hot topic these days. We have those who want amnesty for illegal aliens and those who want them to be rounded up and shipped home. It matters not what side of the coin we are on. Why the bottom line is that whatever we believe the actions we propose or take are to serve our own goal, success and not necessarily belief. Our well thought out position allows us to substantiate that our thinking and action concerning our position is correct and more than that it serves the end we are trying to accomplish. Many times it has nothing to do with helping people or caring about people, as some profess openly as the reason for their actions. Should some be helped then that is a good thing, but most certainly some will also be hurt and so be it. I guess it is that old saying "the end justifies the means"! Tell that to the suffering, hungry, downtrodden, maimed, killed, abandoned, sick.

So, when we place all that is going on now into that context we see that all men have their own agenda, purpose for acting, goals that they deem appropriate, right and must be pursued until achieved. They really believe so strongly in what they are doing they are willing to go to war or to kill to achieve their intended result. Why as mentioned, because they have the correct answer and it serves their purpose. Their true purpose is in most cases is always hidden under another guise, in their very being and self. It can be insecurity, a zeal to help others, a religious objective to serve God or just that it is suppressed by years of grooming. Yet, the truth, though far from their sight, is always there but it never comes out. Sad but true not many recognize it. It is so hard for someone to understand and see because we allow our position, goals, objectives, environment, status to be the dominant part our very being and our daily actions. We never see it for what it is. Of course, this is embellished by others who surround us and we as leaders or people of power convince to buy into our beliefs. Also, others latch on because of similar values, goals, or individual gain These followers are enthralled by the power that comes with being on the winning side and what is given or reaped by others who follow this same path. Naturally, with power comes wealth, position, respect, recognition. Everything we humans crave but do not admit to. Humble is no where to be found in this equation.

To continue this line of thinking, lets assume our goal was truly and sincerely trying to help people. Then we would look deeply at the causes of poverty, hunger, sickness, war and we would work hard to eliminate them where ever they may be through compassion, and love- working "together" and in that very spirit we would succeed. However, almost everyone will answer something like this - this cannot be done- I wish it were that simple- they don't want to work with us- that cost money we can't afford to spend. All worldly responses and all the more why there are no solutions and all confirming what I write to. The fact is no one will move from what they perceive. It is a requirement for success and the attainment of their objective- which means they win / you lose. It is called determination and commitment. In fact if all men desired to achieve what they claim their goal truly is and who they profess they really are then it would already have been achieved. Prosperity, peace, safety, health jobs would be in every nation. There would be no "illegal" because people would be happy where they were born and other than natural disaster, illness or personal reasons they would stay there. We would be Christians, or Muslims or Jews that do follow God and yes we don't even have to believe but be committed to the betterment of mankind. Yet, we say we are doing it for our people, or for spreading democracy, or improving mans lot, or saving them through a religious conversion. But the real and true reason is our own agenda or the agenda of others! It means that we have decided our way is the right way and only way. That is why man will never agree on the common good and there will always be strife. One cannot accept giving and not getting.

I suspect the poor would be more apt to agree with getting something but they too must understand in an equitable society they to must change and do much more to help themselves and not feel they are entitled. It means nations must provide the vehicle, and I do not mean a car, to help people pull t themselves out of the mess many did not ask to be born into. However, what really distinguishes us is power and wealth. The rich and powerful are never satisfied with what they have been blessed with. They seek more and they that which will not only maintain but improve their situation and to gain more. They have no need of the common man other then to do their work and bidding. Without workers they lose. They must keep the masses employed but only send them a few "trickle downs every so often- something like the dog seeking scraps at the table. Us average Joes are the dogs that lap it up and drool at what is next. So the common man strives hard to reach that which the rich and powerful have. In fact we are taught this from birth. In many a case when we do succeed we forget our beginnings and slowly become - because of our nature- the same. The poor, as a famous comedian says- are there to scare the hell out us aspiring to become better and not wind up like them. The poor are kept poor and to be exploited for cheap labor and for causes that enhance the powerful position under the guise of help. He also states correctly that "they are there to scare the hell out of the middle class" if there even is a middle class? However, once they achieve some prosperity they too change to copy the same characteristic type as the group they now belong to. Our religions have proven to be a good business who work for the expansion of one faith over another and increasing followers. It is a never ending job because people change faith beliefs as quickly as a dirty shirt. But of finding God and the helping of our fellow man that is left to our "charity branch"- they ladies guild, or some other part of the church set up for this. You know what percentage of each church participates? Yes, you got it- very few. It is the same people over and over who do these things while everyone else talks about how wonderful their church and group is. However, whether politics or religion or just plain unbelief it matters not. Man will not be able to overcome that which is within him and Sunday will be a day out of the house or just another morning or day off.

Now there are some who realized this and withdrew or withdraw from the world. They realize there can never be a change in man. They were the hermits of old. They discovered that the world scene is a tragic comedy of horror Kings killing Kings, armies of people killing armies of people. The same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Others try their best doing good and finding good in a world in turmoil and who have hope things will get better. It won't, because they don't realize what I am saying. Like the endless conveyor belt it goes rolling along. The ones who actually do understand what I am talking about are few and far between and like me people don't want to know about. As for the rest, they continue day in and day out following the same regimens and never realize all they do is propagate the same response. That is why people doing good have a high depression and burn out rate because the road never comes to an end. The rest of us continue to pat each other on the back and give awards to each other and recognition to reinforce our good, success and to enforce our views are right. These same people include religious leaders who also pat each other and us on the back and the charade goes on and on without any of them ever noticing that they too are the cause of the worlds problems. It is like a sports team. You have your job to do and you must do it for the good of the team. Your told you will win if you do your job so you strive to do it well. However, there is a loser across the field and usually only one becomes the champ of all.

Well they say that breeds character. For the world they are right but for the benefit of mankind they are totally lost. Please understand, I too am part of this charade. I do not exclude myself. I too sought position, power, wealth, and recognition. I was part of the "team" and I thought these people were for all. How sadly I found out when I was discarded for the "good of the company" or because profits were down 2%. I am still a part my own way via my writing and poetry. But, I also realize that now it should not be for just me. It should be a message for all men. It may not be the expressed as I want and I must certainly be open to critique, suggestion or direct and respect someone’s view or opposition to mine. Yet, if it gets one man to ponder, consider, think, then it has accomplished something. From one comes two and so on. Perhaps then more will realize that the truth starts from within and our own values and integrity change from that.

Yes, this world and we who control its destiny can change us and it, but it truly takes a humbleness and an awareness for WHY we are truly doing something. Is it really for people, as we say, or is it really for some other motive which we have buried deep as can be within ourselves and natured there through all the years of our growing, education and grooming and have lost where we put it. Regretfully, one new word of the decade- when we can sit at the table of man and recognize that we all hurt each other and we can all help each other, not for wealth, power or greed or to foster beliefs but as mankind, all one in the same, then we as man will make a step toward true brotherhood and peace. Perhaps then the U.N. would truly turn weapons into plow sheers?

Unfortunately- the other new word of the decade- turn on the T.V. news tomorrow and see exactly the opposite and then you will understand what I am speaking to.

Respectfully-
