Now as reported in the St. Petersburg Times Tampa Section 1 B these are the 10 jobs most likely to have job openings in this darkness state many call the Sunshine state. I ask you, do they smell like recovery to you? Ok, do I need to talk salaries, benefits, hours, your old enough and most likely are working one of them already if working at all.
1- Retail sales person.
2- The ever popular customer service [ I didn't realize service still existed]
3- Registered Nurse, ok this one a possibility but ask yourself why not enough nurses and when you find one they came from off shore and have a green card?
4- Food preparation, kitchen work.
5- Waiter / Waitress
6- Office Clerk
7- Bookkeeper
8- Janitor
9- Sales Representative [again] I guess they ran out of what to list.
10- Secretary
Ok, now like I said this is the future. The good jobs, you know the ones with a living wage, real benefits, growth, well sorry, these are reserved, as those in power have stated numerous times, they are not for Americans who can't do them any longer but foreign help, offshore, green card, consulting types. Now I didn't make up this list the newspaper did. They even tell you how to land one. Wow, aren't you excited for your family, your children's future and yes all during this wonderful recovery.
Ah, the good life to return to those that have and the ranks of the exploited. Low wage, short weeks, limited benefits with government health care to take care of it all. Throw in the entitlements like food stamps, rental assistance, education grants and child credits and all will be happy and fine. The perfect fit for low wage workers to be happy with, and unfortunately they will.
The new America is slowly emerging build by and for, well you know who don't you?

I am in Houston now and the ads are Engineering, Biologist, Biological Eng, Chemist, Space Engineering, Journalist, Journalist Trainee, Operations Engineer, and...etc. In Detroit, Engineers, Sheet Cutters, Pipe Fitters, Welders...etc. These are new jobs. So I think, for as many being helped, there are some not being helped. So basically, it is still a "circular flow" of living. Please log in to respond to this comment.Dr. Rucker, Florida has long been a low wage, no benefit, right to work state, which means you have no rights, whereas Texas was always a hub for higher end jobs, being oil, etc, located there. Florida is a well to do haven for the wealthy, retired who have money and business. The state is structured to accommodate these types of persons and entities. While superficially they seem to have all of the agencies, support and government help that many states have they are in my opinion and by personal experience no more then a facade. I came from a Wall street background and I can tell you the even high end senior management for many years was far from that six figure salary being thrown around today. Yes the service industry the dominant factor but much of the high end technical help brought in from offshore or via consulting. I lost my job along with 40 more Americans after training off shore help and being told we would not be let go, really. I advise people who have, that this $$$$, that this is where to be when you retire. Average families looking to leave in droves but they are locked in because of economics. In fact some just donl;t give a damn any longer, packing up and going and leaving it all behind. A good paper for someone who wishes to write one on this economy. Yes and for those that have recovery, the remainder under $50,000 a year, well we know what is in it for them. Best wishes. Please log in to respond to this comment.
