Out of 8200 a day visiting this site you are one of the 20 or so who are interested in topics such as this. Wow, doesn't that say something about our nation? Yes, the title above is allegedly true. According to a memo [not in the paper] being circulated locally among varied business organizations pertaining to increases in premiums for health care insurance, it seems that hospitals are now passing costs associated with "uninsured" patients along to insurance companies in the form of increased costs for the services provided to uninsured patients. The number of patients going to ER rooms increasing significantly because clinics and doctors bill the patients who are uninsured significant fee's for each visit. Yes, it doesn't matter if their treatment didn't work, you return for the same symptoms you get billed again and again and again. So why go to them when you can walk into an ER and get it done for free because if you go to a hospital the county pays when you can't afford to. Paid for by you who HAVE it to pay.
So lets look at reality. First of all the county government maintains health care for uninsured or indigent and payments are made for those services from tax payer dollars. The insurance company bills that county who reimburses them. What do the hospital and insurer have in common? Well they both get, you got it, increased revenue. What does the taxpayer have, you got it, increased costs as well as those of you who pay for insurance because they also raise your rates. It is a win for them both even while they cry about the uninsured and the "rising costs." Secondly, the patient themselves sign an agreement to pay. That they do or don't dependent on circumstances. However, it would be unfair not to mention many pay over extended times the minimums allowed.
So just what rising costs are they, yes they the hospitals referring to? They increased the cost when in effect they didn't need to. No, be it that the patient is insured or not they get paid. In no way should the cost of those services be increased regardless of insurance or not and certainly not passed to the policy holder.
Now I decided to upgrade this article to bring into your thought the new "Blue" Democrats, as they are called. Supposedly conservatives I suggest looking at what they vote for. That title centrist seems to be the new indoctrination tool to send the less then knowing into thinking these people really are what they are labeled. They are pushing for a provision which would allow small business to not have to provide insurance. On the surface that all seems a -ok, but just what small businesses are they talking about? Are they mom and pop types or do they have a number attached for employees? Also, who then picks up the cost of that insurance? You got it YOU, the worker because it is mandated you have it. Also at the root, that is if you read deep and comprehend, is PROTECTION for big insurance companies. It is stated right there for all to see but hey do you and if you see do you comprehend? What it boils down to is the "state" will set up non profit coops to pay. I only have one question, where do these not for profit Coops get their money to pay? Rhetorically could it be the taxpayer. hey does that mean we once again get to pay twice?
Now this has and most likely will continue even with the so called "consumer protection" being buzzed about concerning Health Care reform. That is unless you get off your duff and do something about it. Ok, case closed, we all know the answer to that. So when that increase does come and it impacts you who have, just suck it down like you do all the rest. Yes, because you wanted change and you got change but and that but significant it wasn't the change you were expecting, was it? No, it couldn't be from the start and you can take Obama out of the picture; it really doesn't matter in the least. The same agenda, goal regardless of who is in office or what party. Simply speaking it really is that simple.
