Many today call themselves Christian, yet nothing can be further from the truth. Sure they call themselves that, profess a belief in God and some that they belong to a denomination. However, they hold to their own beliefs and the doctrines of men. When they do that they sin. Simply speaking it is no more then that, fact, reality, truth.

Ok, let's use the current Sanford mess as a real life example. Only one example among many I have written to. An article in the Associated Press described the alleged adulteress of Governor Sanford of South Carolina as "educated in Catholic schools and professes her belief in God." Ok, she believes in God, the innuendo is that she is Catholic but no one, not she or anyone has defined who her God or denomination of any really is. That is assumed by her schooling and background and her voicing a belief in a God.

Well she may profess but does not really follow the Word of God and certainly is not Born Again. It is not for us to judge her, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone.' However, it is by her lips and the accusations made against her fact, reality, what God defines as sin in His Word. She could have as indicated made a choice to sin and now if she is a believer in Christ, she must repent and go and sin no more. Confession phase one and she has completed that. What do Christians do or should do, you got it, forgive her and help her, not condemn her, nor he for that matter. Yet the point being and it is a very specific point, unless you are changed , unless you go and sin no more, you are not Born Again and you are no more then a professor. Doing that which you may not want to do as Paul stated was His problem. Yet, Paul was given the thorn by God to keep Him humble. Perhaps we all need a thorn? Yes and only Paul and God to this very day knew what that thorn was. Is that not the same with sinners who keep the dark hidden within?

The fact is we shall know them by their work and until this work becomes known publically no one knows. She was considered, at least that is my opinion, a good, decent and religious woman until her fall. It was the book by the cover, the Easter Bunny, the exterior wrapper that made it good and decent to others even when it was not. Do we not all fall for outward appearances?

Yes coming in light, saying all the right things, projecting goodness and decency yet all the while living in sin. It is that and only that. Now I find it even more confirmation now that Madoff got 150 years everyone is clamoring for a harder penalty. Yes his wife barred from the posh locals that freely accepted his and her money, that is when they came as light and good and decent and power and wealth. Ye accepting the reward and only seeing the exterior. Now they want no part of him, no mercy for him or her, they are outcasts.

Now a good example in Oklahoma of the rapist who raped a 4 year old. he got 1 year, Madoff 150, after all we're talking money here and ot children or people. yes the good and decent will destroy you when money is involved. The point is the same ones who come as light, hope, good and decent, who make the laws that destroy, who reap the profits, who allow and legalize usury, who toughen bankruptcy, who basically allow sin to prosper and make the path to ruin and make money and who sit in places of honor, demnading such, while in secret their heart is far from the very God many of them profess. After all what is a profession without works? What is its worth?

Yet in mercy, are we all not the same? Sadly we all fall short. However, it is the one who fights the fight, recognizes their sins and offenses and who strives to change the wrong they didand od that God recognizes and sees. The others, well He has set aside a place for them as He Himself has stated, because in their arrogance, conceit, pride and ego they place themselves even above Him. They hold no fear of God. Yet when it all comes down upon them they will find no where to hide. Yes as the Word says they will cry cover me but they still will be seen.

So the real question in this age is who are you this day? Are you a professor or a doer? Do you recognize your sin as defined in the Word and do you make an effort to change? Only you know that and only we will know you by your works.
