What the Streets of America Might Become If They Aren't Already.

Now that we have heard about the nightmare in Great Britain what makes you think we are not susceptible to the same? Unemployment, stagnation, low wage jobs, dead end jobs, no benefits, right to work states, less hours and yes no hope, arrogant, greedy and exploitive employers and government who backs them over people. Yes the American dream gone, in shambles.
So what is the word we are looking for? Ok, I got it "idle". Yes idle time on ones hands can only lead to trouble. They do go hand in hand. We have already seen the brazen holdups of C Stores and the unnecessary shootings. It seems criminals can get all the guns they want it is good average Americans who can't. Police recommend bullet proof glass because they just don't have enough manpower. Oh, the stimulus will add them, really. You really believe that.
Yes and the haves living securely behind their fenced and gated communities think they are snug as a bug in a rug. Well through those gates pass many people day in and day out. Just the other evening in our once "very quite" neighborhood the home up the block was surrounded by police and had a helicopter above it. Someone had tried to break in. Now thank God the owner travels a lot and the neighbor heard something. Yet by the time the police arrived they were long gone. How safe do you think that single lady feels now?
Yes and with oil at an all time low while prices continue to rise, how strange, do you think that unsecured car in the driveway is bait? We already have multiple families sharing a home on the block and the faces change daily. Not in your local, perhaps not, but maybe just a mile or so up the road.
Yes arrogance, attitudes, nothing to lose, who gives a damn running rampant on the streets of America. You look like you have and guess what. That trip to the store is now an adventure. Hey don't think so, read the stats. Police cutting back and laying off, reducing patrols and now volunteers are stepping up. You see one of them every 8 to 10 days drive by.
Like Britain our youth have little to no hope, no where to go, no future. Eevn with a college degree what good jobs are available for them? The good ones go to the green card holders not Americans. The wealthy kids, the have kids, well they get in trouble also but in other ways and they can buy their way out. However, those low life irresponsible, not credit worthy families kids, they pay. While the parents are out working day and night the kids are free to roam and roam they do and they do what kids and young adults do. Have you forgotten? Booze, drugs, sex and yes the inevitable violence. No supervision, no place to go, roaming and looking. Teen pregnancies on the rise, abortions on sale, condoms for free at school, an oral sex a requirement to say you are still a virgin. Hey ask our former president. Yes it all sends a message loud and clear.
So along with the destruction of families and people come all the woes associated with the poor, underprivileged, neglected, unskilled, socially needy. Yes like I spelled out in the normalization of sin, who do you think that impacts? You got it, the only ones it can, the have. The people who have money, nice things, the bling. Yes the bling this society craves and many want at any cost.
Scary, your darn right it is that is why they say security is one of the fastest growth fields to find work in. I wrote to this years ago and here it is. The only thing they don't tell you if you make $10.00 max an hour to put your life on the line, work the worse shifts night and day, rain or shine for the possibility of getting hurt, maimed or killed. Yes but that's ok, you have a new career and one that is needed to protect of course, those that have. Of those new American career jobs that used to speak to the end of the line.
Now what was once removed from many is in the neighborhood. Yes the hood has come to suburbia. Transplants front he inner cities, the gangs, and everything else that goes with it. Just go to any school and talk to the teachers, the resource officer. Drive around the town about 3 AM in the morning and get the truth.
So when you step out do not be careless, look around, stay alert, this is no longer the America you think it is. That went the way of Gene Kelly, Mary Poppins and those good old days. These are the me now days. The bling days. The I want it and need it days and of course the take days. Think not, well what can one say? Lets just hope you never get to meet it face to face.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)Robert, how right you are on this article....this is running rampant in this country as well, not just Great Britian, it is getting worse and worse. To the point where citizens are "arming" themselves for self preservation. Times are desperate, and so are allot of our citizens. I work for UPS, and there are literally people following our trucks around, they check out the drops, and steal the packages when the truck leaves. There was a lady that I talked with, (I'm a desk jockey), and with Package Investigation, and her and her husband had a closed circuit camera set up on their front porch, and they watched the tape, and the carrier truck pulled up, and delivered the package, and right after it left, it shows some lady BACK IN HER CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY, AND GRABBED THE PKG. AND THROW IT IN HER TRUNK, AND SHE SPEAD AWAY. The camera got her license number and the owners of the home call the local police, and they did nothing. They considered this to be a "low priority" even thought the lady had the license number. THEY DID NOTHING. So, can I summarize that crime DOES pay? The police dept claims they do not have the funds or resources to handle petty crimes that is considered a misdemenor!!! Wow....desperation.....yes.....problems on our streets.....yes....how about these guys that prey on the elderly, and break down their doors and brutally beat these people....what is done.....nothing. I agree....we have problems right here, and yes, these criminals are given the tools to get away with this.....Great article, and don't get me started.......ha ha.....your friend in pen......Gary.....Good read. Please log in to respond to this comment. Thanks for responding. Gary here in Florida they are backlogged with concealed weapons permits. people are arming themselves at an alarming pace. Empty homes, transients, people migrating all cross this nation and desperate. I do believe that we will see, if this situation grows any deeper, anarchy and open defiance as we saw in the 30"s when troops were called out to move the homeless off the mall in Washington. Thanks my friend and keep plugging the issues. They need to be said. best wishes, Robert. Please log in to respond to this comment.Robert, I know what you mean....I have always admired your gift to point out the truths, even if they hurt....people have got to know these things, and the more I read of your work, the better I am understanding that sometimes, and nowadays, most of the time, the truths can be alarming as well as depressing. You are right about what you said in regards to the word hope.....but in essence, its like you more or less elude to, hope doesn't get it done, its the people that have to DO something.....I have started that journey with my own state legislature, writing letters, contesting our states budget and what we are going to do to get back on top of things....it took me awhile.....but I am getting there my friend......I'm getting there......Your fan.......Gary.Please log in to respond to this comment.Gary, I have also been on Lou Dobbs a few times, I have personally been involved with my local, state and national "leaders", I write in then newspaper and I urge all I meet by sharing the message. One voice nothing but many together a mighty roar. Too bad it is always the few taking action while the rest nod approval. Good job and keep it up, perhaps, just perhaps we will be able to stir the sleeping giant. Please log in to respond to this comment.
