Well, w e don't need anymore bad newsis what a man slightly older then I stated while I was talking to a woman concerning the current situation in our nation. She was mailing a priority letter and I was talking about there is no guarantee of delivery and she brought up the economy and nothing seems to work anymore and no one gives damn. I said to her you can sum it up with these words "its just a job". We then talked about tax relief. I didn't mind this man eaves dropping and I really didn't mind the comment he made and in a way I agree with him wholeheartedly that I can see why he held that view. My only question to him was why? He readily admitted he knew nothing about what we were taking about and he said he preferred to hope and was sick of bad news. he was really worried. I then asked him if he would mind explaining to me what he based his hope on? Nothing came back. He said he was just hoping. That he really didn't trust then in Washington, any of them yet that was about all he had. Now I said to Him, sir, let me give you an example. I'm hoping Christ to return soon. The Christian world has been hoping 2000 years. Yes and I will continue to hope and really expect that will be soon. Now many think and hope and many scoff. It doesn't matter all I have is faith and hope. Yet my faith is abundantly more then what we get out of Washington. You see I can trust in who I hope in. It may not be in my lifetime but one day it will be. So the facts that me and you and all are left with is we have to deal with reality. Not nice but it is fact. So once again I asked what can you hang your hope on? Well once again nothing.
Then I gently said to him, look I'm hoping as well but what do you have to say about the bailout that turned bonus money to bling? Nothing came back. What do you have to say about people on the street, homeless shelters full and turning people away while their homes rot away empty? How are we top feel about families living in parks and cars? Do you have anything to say about that? Nothing came back. Do you have anything to say about the millions out of work, no real help, facades, hanging on till help arrives? Once again nothing.
So by this time we had a group of people all listening. I asked one lady who spoke up and said she didn't know about anything we were talking about. She said she doesn't read the paper or watch the news and doesn't have the Internet. She is busy all day. I asked with what and she said normal things, whatever that is? So I asked is this all news to you? Yes, she knew things were bad but really didn't think about what is going on. She said she just questioned, why? So I asked her what are you doing about it if anything? She said "what can we do about it", " it won't help anyway". That most muttered and it kind of summed up the malaise in this nation [read my article about the 55 and older crowd] . So I asked do you think it is ok to sit still and just hope, do nothing? You won't even write, call, do something? Is that ok? She said certainly not. I said well you have your answer to it all.
I once again explained why I am so armament about spreading the message to call, do something. I have heard now from Bush and these who brought us this mess. Yes these are the same exact ones we have now, no difference, does that make sense to you? She said we have a new president. I said really but you missed everything, it went right past you. She said what, I said this is the same exact Washington Crowd he talked to that he was going to change. What we have right out of his own mouth is business as usual. Yes we also heard that word now from the man in office. I heard they were going to help homeowners and they didn't, they helped those who caused this and then our new president had the gall to call them irresponsible while the press raved about his outrage. Where was that outrage during the election? Where was it when he pushed the bling bailout through? Are you going to tell me he didn't know? Our new different leader didn't know? You mean to say he was hoping, trusting, just like us? Is something wrong with all this? He got what we got is what it is. So let me ask you this, just what are you hoping for? Tax breaks, for who? Jobs, for who? Usury to end, really. I then got a unified your right. Thanks but that is meaningless to me because your all still hoping and sitting on your duffs.
The man that spoke up initially then said it all takes time. I asked again. Can you afford to wait? Do you have money to enable you to wait, be patient? No answer, silence. Yes and just a footnote as he left he got into a Chevy Suburban. Look up what they cost. Was it his, who knows, maybe, maybe not yet his reply sort of defined where we are in this nation. Those that have can afford to wait, hang on, be patient. The rest dying a slow death every single moment with no more then facades all about and oh yes, hope.
Now I do think things will turn around for the haves. The rest of us sadly and I will say I will be thrilled if I am wrong, all e will continue to cling to is hope.
Now here is hope, that is for foreigners AP reported today that these same, got that, these same banks that got bailout / bling / bonus money from us tax payer dollars, were trying to secure government permission to bring in thousands of FOREIGN WORKERS for high paying jobs. Are there any of you "middle income" bankers out there who read the signs? Are there any of you on the unemployment lines? Help NOW but for WHO?
Yes they talk jobs for hard hats bu t for WHO? This is the essence of what I write to. It should be if they are doing anything at all it should be only for AMERICANS. Here is my prophesy. You will hear very emphatically we could not find any Americans to do the job. Just what more do you need to wake up?
Now frankly I have receive my message loud and clear by the number of readers . I am not in this for readers but for my family, my kids, their future.
The next time you want to check this out start a conversation at the post office. This was just one of a few I have had in recent weeks and they all sound similar.
