Why does God want us to choose Him?

It seems to me that free choice has a lot to do with what God wants of us. It is rather simple yet many shun Him. They either don't believe in Him, His Word or for that matter that he even exists. Yet that is the essence of why we are here.
You see God made the Angels to love and serve Him. He wants man to choose to love Him. Certainly He could have made us to love Him but then God is seeking what we seek, true love, unconditional love, a love that asks nothing but gives it all freely without reservation or seeking reward.
1- Love, honor and obey Him. I already wrote to this so I won't any longer. He has as well.
2- Have faith and trust in Him and no one else.
How do we do this?
1- First and foremost we acknowledge Him as our Lord and God.
2- We keep faith. That is all we are required to do.
3- We trust in Him and Him only.
4- We do the works He expects.
Now God, because His father loves Him, has been given all whose names are in the book of life. They will never be lost because He will save them. Bring them to all that is above. The second is that He has opened the gates for all who want to enter. All they need to do is what I have just listed. No more, no less and His grace [gift] will ensure your reward.
Now what is the flip side? Well that is a separation from God. Since God is light that is total darkness, emptiness, abandonment. To man and on human terms no man can accept this at all. They would be totally consumed. It is unthinkable in the realm of reality. It is in the spirit sense a separation from God. That totally destroys ones being.
Now that is for eternity. You see the choice very simple. It is yours to make. God give you a choice and you must make it. Here is the line in the sand. Your are for me or against me. It is simply speaking that. Accept or reject and nothing more.
So the believer will undergo the trial and that will be a sign of who they are. Why because they will do all of what I listed above even in adversity. The unbeliever, the one who rejects, the opposite and it too will show in their deeds and works. It is as simple as night and day, complete opposites.
Why, is this allowed? Well in my opinion because God wants to know, yes God wants to know, yes God WANTS TO KNOW, YOU CHOSE HIM FREELY. Even under the most trying of circumstance you never wavered. He longs that all will come to Him even while knowing many will not and the gate is narrow. and few wish to enter. Yes and even those who think they have entered haven't. Why, they do not do what I have said above and from their heart.
So it is quite simple, do this and you will hear, "Well done my good and faithful servant". Do not and you will hear depart from me. It is simply speaking no more then that.
Worry not about anyone else. The choice given to all individually. What is your choice?

He could force us to do things His way but as you've so carefully stated and reiterated, He wants us to return His love by making our own choice. As I was reading this, it made me think about all the choices we have in life, Robert. When we choose Christ, we can toss all the other junk that comes our way as we have that choice, too. This article was spiritually uplifting and inspirational. I'm thankful you and I chose Him. I pray continuously that those who have not, will.
