The Demise of Truth and the Rise of Relativism.

Now I have written to this before but felt the prompting to write to it again. Many in today's society seemed to be perplexed as to what is truth? Some even go as far as to ask is there anything such as truth? Even to say who says truth is that? So fact, reality, truth, is, for all intents and purposes, subject in my opinion to the individuals interpretation, perspective, belief, indoctrination and the sources you provide to backup your statements.
So why do we find it strange when people reject truth, facts, reality? Why do we find it strange when we face hostility toward that? One only has to look at the diversity of opinion and beliefs to understand that society, no matter where, is fragmented in perspective, belief, opinion. So in my opinion there is no core morality, beliefs, laws, religion, or social institutions that maintain or hold to a common foundation any longer. Now it is professed, but only in word. Much different then application so hence the disparity.
In my opinion when truth is presented many will not believe it. They will reject it. Some may even be hostile toward it because, well you have literally challenged their beliefs, their systems, their understanding and perspectives, their educational base. You have undermined their social order and hence once attacked they feel they have no other option but to strike back. In reality they have choice, consideration and yes substantiation, yet it is more today about me and right then truth itself. You see one needs humbleness to accept truth. That in my opinion is severely lacking in society.
Now truth, that is reality, facts, what it is, cannot be altered, yet it must be accepted as such. Example, the use of the term usury. Usury is what it is legal or not. Therein is the problem of refusal, un-acceptance, rejection of that truth. It is not realtive to some in the perspective of truth yet truth it is by nature of definition. Yet, if rejected, truth is meaningless. It goes nowhere. It has not impact.
So those who present fact, reality, truth as it is by nature of happening will get attacked, ridiculed, and labeled even subjected to degrading remarks and inuendo. One who speaks of truth must accept that. Yes they will be rejected and in many cases they will pay a price for their integrity, honor, values and morality. Especially in a society or system that does not accept that which they believe in or stand for. Now I am not talking a difference of opinion based on intangibles, or theory or even faith. That is all subjective. No I am talking tangibles.
So in this dark age, and yes in my opinion it is a dark age regardless of the sugar coating applied by many, a day of the destruction and ruin of families, people, nations, we must understand the basis of relative verses truth and why relativism is the predominant factor in society today.
If we understand professing is not the same as doing and we acknowledge that pride more then humble is predominant then we understand that which I am writing to. So when you write to truth expect rejection. Yet always understand as long as it is fact, reality, truth that cannot ever be changed, it is what it is.
Now therein is the only caveat, your truth, as presented by your sources, may not be the truth as presented by the other persons sources. Apples and oranges cannot be reconciled. So one must hinge their argument on a common, known irrefutable truth, belief, reality that is by nature a truth that cannot be altered, changed or interpreted differently. Regretfully that is not the Word of God as witnessed by the thousands of denominations and other religions, all correct in their truth. Christians can debate other Christians but will not find much common ground with believers of other faiths or non believers.
So if we preach the Word, what Word, version, bible? If we speak to religion what religion? If we speak to events, deeds, actions or non actions, then they are more tangible, definitive, fact, reality. Keep that in mind and remain open. Yet also keep in mind never sacrifice truth for relative but be aware of why the relative exists.
