You, Taxes and the game.

While business continues to reap tax advantages, write offs and other benefits you and we, the American Tax payer, that is those who still do and can pay taxes, will reap the whirlwind. Like I have been saying, someone has to pay and guess who was tagged? I guess we can say it is strange we see more of the Democrats for Bush policies then his own party. Now do you believe that, really believe that? In reality all the same just "time to play the game" as that wrestlers motto says", yes and exactly that. Yes and all of a sudden all of them went from extreme liberals to centrists, amazing. Now open up wide and swallow hard. Yes the very same tired bunch that gave us what we have. Yes the majority of "new"and the same tired Clinton appointees, yes and even a Clinton back in a key government role. Yes and the same deeds, works, failures, works. Hey the record is there but we know that doesn't matte, does it? Yes swallow hard because republican or democrat meaningless. You will get what is on the agenda and it will be done in the open and with your approval. Yes and at the end don't forget to say thank you.

Why this direct? Well your response is the foundation of an opinion formed a long time ago. Confirmation as it is know. Fact, reality, truth and it is what it is no matter how much is written or said in defense of them.

So here are some TAX possibilities for 2008 / 2009.

Now what do I mean by that? Well you and to world pinned your hopes on more of the same and you will get more of the same and that is truth, reality, fact. You can deny it verbally in any number of ways but the truth is what it is no more no less. Certainly, it will come in a different package and with new buzz words, slogans and promises but it is only the same old tired package we always had. Bring back this, add on that. The same approach.

So what is in store as possibilities, really? Well you know those "losses" that you supposedly can write off? Well get this. Your leaders are hard at work, regardless of old president, new president shaping just what you can write off as losses. Hey I bet some of you lost a ton in 2008? Right now if losses exceed gains you can write off as much as $3,000 [$1,500 each if filing separately]. That is each year and additional losses get carried over into future years.

Now what they are considering mind you is possibly is changing that. Why, hello, you have and they need what you have, what more do they need? It really is simple speaking that. Yes it could literally take a lifetime to write it all of or more. President, Obama has made no comment. Do you expect he will? He rarely speaks to controversy and that is fact, preferring to ignore and stay clear. Hey it got him the White House didn't it? Didn't hear too much about Comrehensive Immigration until now, Usury oh legal usury, whats that, hey its all within the law.

Now the good news is that they may not be able to pass it this year, but watch out in 2009 when it all hits the fan. What about your worthless stocks? Obama, during his campaign, called for major changes for older people allowing them to take more without penalties. Yet don't expect much of that this year or next. Possible. Not probable, once again MONEY. In fact your friends on the Banking Committee said don't expect much change. Yes and I'd bank on that use a pun. They want savings to stay put with taxes and with the market all being down they need that. Didn't our new president promise to form a coalition across the isles and lead? Hey, I'm picking on him. No I'm stating reality. He said it.

Good news perhaps, if your 70 or older you can transfer up to 100k to charities. By the way how many have that to transfer? My bet more then they let on. Yes and at the local level even more tax news. Local governments hard pressed for tax dollars in 2009 are devising unique and "legal" ways to well, screw you. In fact many of you may even see a tax increase while the home you have is 1/3 of what you owe. How can that be you may ask? Yes and therein lies the root of the problems in America today. How can it be?

I really liked this article, you are touching on one of my biggest "Pet Peeves" with our wonderful American Government. I am a Vietnam Vet, and feel that I have "Earned the Right" to voice my opinion. You are right on with this article, in depth, and very hard hitting. Well done on this article, and I will be adding my own two cents on "How the IRS has become a business", as you know it was supposed to pay for the civil war, enacted by our President Abraham Lincon" I am working on this article as we speak, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your insite, thank you for sharing this article, and I look forward to reading your future works.

Gary I sincerely appreciate your kind comments. I have been the maverick on this site writing to a number of issues. My hero's were men of honor, integrity, character and above all faith. Vets, well I lived through the Nam years and know first hand what Vets went through and are still going through. I never was in nam but served during that time. Yes as a Historian our nation is  not much different then the Romans, little to nothing and like I say even until today. I just lost a good friend, great guy, agent orange to Cancer and no help from Uncle Sam. The issues I write to are fact and truth. Many do like them because they do convict. One can hide from truth but it never goes away.  A writer must not be discouraged if few respond because many will read and not. So I look forward to your work eagerly and wish you well. With sincere best wishes,
