Integrity and Experience Two Words That Cloud a New Presidency.

The title provides two very significant words which we as Americans should all be concerned about. Both are linked and both make a statement about those we place in the positions of leadership of our nation and also we as a people. Now many will say how can you attack this president, he hasn't even had a chance to get into office. My reply is that I have been questioning him as the leader he professes to be since he became a candidate. No not as a person as a leader. I actually wrote to him about issues and got no reply back. Yet, I accept many of you elected him. However, that does not change the reality of what I am writing to. You really do not have to accept this opinion but the truth is what it is and while I recognize truth in its pure form, in my opinion is not something readily sought after in this society, it must be stated anyway.

When we select our leaders we should, at least, one might suspect, demand integrity be an essential and required part of a persons character. Rhetorically one might ask do you see it in the majority of our elected leaders today? Integrity, without any formal definition says basically a person can be trusted. Trusted in what is said and yes does.

Rhetorically speaking where do you see integrity in these leaders? That is any of them? Do they do and deliver what they say? Can they be trusted? Well the overwhelming number of you say no. You actually say that. So if we look at facts can we ask did not this man say he would bring change? That he had the qualifications for the job? Yet his appointee's to his cabinet smell of the same old, tired and worn Washington crowd he himself berated time after time in seeking the presidency. Even some of his very appointee's he lambasted. Did not his opponent, who I did not favor either, say that this man was not experienced enough? So should one ignore this or be concerned? Rhetorically could this lead one to suspect his words? Is that a fair assessment? Oh only campaign talk. Oh, I see, that is all acceptable.

So now, if we may extract out of the media, we see this new president is selecting people who will help with his inexperience. That is what the media is saying these days and the new buzz word inclusion. Well hasn't every new president had the same opportunities, why is this one any different and he is the only one who they label as "inexperience"? Was Clinton or Bush a World leader or national figure? Do I need to name more? No Governor's. Is it the unique times we are in? Oh, ok yes and brought to us by these very same. How strange we can't seem to see the tree's for the forest. Rhetorically I guess one can say that about Mafia families. One becomes a made man and is in for life. So these "experienced" people have decades and years of experience behind them. Yet what people do not consider is this and by his own words. To paraphrase they are part and parcel of the do nothing to little Washington crowd that has run this nation for years . His words not mine and that sticks in the throat and is hard to swallow.

Rhetorically can one suspect the same failed approaches, concepts, idea's that caused this debacle we are now in to be perpetrated all over again? Oh the difference he says is that he will guide the ship. Yes, but he won't pull up the sail or lay our the rigging. He will be at the rudder. So rhetorically the old saying "can you teach and old dog new tricks" becomes significant. Secondly, if he does not have the experience that means he will depend on them to call the shots. Yes like it or not it is that way. Rhetorically one might assume that he will take the view from 50,000 feet approach and respond accordingly. Many of us know how that works.

Now those who say experience isn't a bad thing I certainly agree. Yet proved experience not the same ones who got us where we are by nature of their decisions, participation, ideology in what they have done or failed to do. Does a company go out and rehire the very same ones that caused a debacle? No they sweep clean. Rhetorically can one ask if there is real concern for integrity and the type of experience? Can we trust what is said verses what is done?

Even in the statements made people are evidently ignorant of what they imply or mean. Example 81% mind you of all Americans are dead set against Comprehensive Immigration. This president will do it, period. Said it is a priority and it will be. Evidently no concern. Ok let me ask about this immoral situation, that of usury? As a senator and a man of professed religious belief and integrity why did he not fight this? No, fact is he chose not to and to this day he doesn't? No problem with that with any who voted for him. Evidently they didn't elect him on experience they elected him on what he said or other factors, simple and pure. Hey it is fact.

Just today a well known group stated the United States has been Recession since December 2007. How odd they would say that when our very own government has denied that. Well just what does that imply? Do you really think the press has reported this accurately or fairly and why now, all of a sudden this comes out on the Internet? Could it be we are looking to fix blame well before this last election? Maybe, then again maybe not, but one finds it strange we only just recently stated we are in a Recession.

Now let me try to put this into perspective concerning "professing", what I call the Easter Bunny Syndrome, mere words. Just today in the St, Petersburg times on page 4A I find an interesting article concerning Catholics and I think the concept definitely applies to what I am alluding to. It could apply to any faith group but this happens to be Catholics. A priest is urging parishioners who voted for Obama to go to confession before receiving communion. Why, well the stance by the Vatican and the Catholic church on abortion is in conflict with this new presidents views. Now the creed of this church, which professed Catholics say at every mass quite literally states your belief in that church and its teachings. It doesn't say one can deviate, change, alter, accept or decline yet many evidently hold that opinion based on their deeds. Hey choice once again. So, that said another reverend, of the same church mind you, stated he sees no problem voting for Obama after considering many issues. They key legal statement for him the other issues. If they voted strictly on abortion only then they would have to go to confession. In my opinion I don't see how he can qualify that, but he did. Yet, same church, same doctrine, same beliefs. Where does that leave the parishioners?

So quite frankly we have a problem with perspective, opinion, belief, opinion even while they all belong to the same church. Rhetorically it sounds like a leadership and direction issue to me. Rhetorically could the "law" , "doctrine" be so unclear, open ended and why? So 54% of professed Catholics [there we go with that word again] voted for OBama. How many other born again "believers" or other faith denominations did likewise even against their own church doctrines, beliefs, reasons?

The point, it is all up for grabs. "It is evidently in the eye of the beholder", one opinion as good as another's. "Let the buyer beware" and, if "it works for me it must be ok". So if I may sum it all up, nothing really matters because it is your choice, belief, opinion, perspective, ideology. Professing is applicable to your beliefs. So the words in the title, integrity and experience are relative as to ones individual beliefs. What I see as inexperienced you may see as the opposite, etc, etc, etc.

Rhetorically one cold surmise that in reality nothing that we consider as guidelines, law, the foundations of society, beliefs, matters any longer. It is quite frankly my Theory of The Law of Selective Application. As for me in my oinion there are actions they could have taken months yes and evn a year or so ago or earlier and the fatcs are they didn't and won't. Simple speaking, that is fact.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. My family actually wrote my name in as a write in candidate. That said reality says if they wanted to they could. It is evident they don't care to and hide it under facades, promises and rhetoric. Why people still follow along, well sadly, in my opinion perhaps they are right in that we evidently are sadly more cattle and bovine then we like to admit. Best Wishes.
