Second Timothy Chapter 4, what does it speak to about today's church? Well I do think this is quite prophetic concerning the modern churches of today and doctrine. In fact so much so I do not see how any logical thinking, contemplative person who looks at reality can dismiss it so lightly unless, that is they are blind to it all. Can that be, well believers know the answer to that.
So let read what Timothy, Chapter 4, verses 1 - 5 New America Bible-
1- I charge you in the presence of God and of Jesus Christ, who will judge thelivingand the dead, and by His appearing and His kingly power: 2 proclaim the Word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage, through all patience and teaching. 3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity will accumulate teachers 4- and will stop listening to the truth and will be diverted to myths . 5 - but YOU be self possessedin all circumstances; put up with hardship; perform the work of an evangelist; full fill your ministry.
Rhetorically can anyone say that this is not this day and age? Now read this also from Timothy Chapter 3 verse 1-9.
The Dangers of the Last Days 1- but understand this : there will be terrifying times in the last days. 2 People will be self centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious, 3 callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good , 4 traitors, reckless. Conceited, lovers of pleasure as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power, etc.
If this my fellow believers does not describe these days we live in then what does? Really what does? What will it take for your eyes and see? Yes that my friends is at the core of what believers know. Throw in all the rest concerning the Last days, the Book of Daniel and all the rest, just what does it take?
Well what is the Fig tree? Believers understand this is Israel. What role does Russia have? Luke 22 verse 28 But when you see these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand. WOW, what can one say? If you want the answers read the book. I close with this. Read Luke 17 verse 22- - 37 read and know.
Luke 12 Verse 37 Blessed are those servants whom the Master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen.
No claim to prophet just a believer, putting up with hardship and reprimanding and evangelizing as instructed to do.

Pharoah is a good example. God hardened his heart because he knew before the foundation of the world that he would not respond to God's call.I don't disagree with that teaching, but I think we have to consider all passages in context and Romans, and Peter discuss this very issue. According to the foreknowledge of God, he predestined. And predestination is never discussed in the context of salvation, only in being conformed into the image of Christ.Remember we are all born dead and the dead cannot raise themselves. We can only come to life because God calls us. And of those he calls (all) only few are chosen because only few respond. Remember Jesus also said that no one can come to the Him unless the Father draw him and later Jesus says I have come that I would draw all men to myself. It's definitely a big subject :-) and I hope this adds to that food for thought. Blessings my friend. I wish there were more of these types of conversations with others instead of heated slander. Smiles. In all it helps people grow in knowledge and be more tolerant of each others views. You made some points I was not considering. I do think you can do a wonderful job on this as a lesson on just that. Thanks much as always, your most aprreciative friend, RobertPlease log in to respond to this comment.
