Five quick action steps to turn the economy around NOW!

These things can be NOW by Senate and House action, immediately.

Of course the key to it all is jobs. Let no one kid you those low wage retail jobs will not cut it and that is where most Americans are hired these days. Don't think so then just check the governments own statistics. No jobs, sorry and these are not going to come about by saying they are, wishing they are, or hoping they are. I must say there are few solutions because frankly they removed them. It will take time to recover if at all no matter what these politicians say. Yet to buy time and get the ball rolling I would immediately and not after the election.

1- Eliminate all fees, interest and late charges on past due credit cards. Reduce the rates from usurious levels to a profitable but fair level but no more then 10% and work out a fixed long term payback for those in default. This will save billions immediately and put extra cash into the hands of people hard pressed and facing other hardships because of this fiasco. Those accounts would be frozen and any credit they can get would be nominal, since we are a credit driven society and like it or not people need credit to do many things which are mandated by, guess who, the government. tech government doesn't get into private business, well what do you call Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae or Bears Sterns?

2- Correct their Credit ratings and eliminate all related purchases or hiring tied to credit reporting for everyone. This will enable all people to save billions immediately and many to get back to work who are eliminated by this practice of credit checking. This will also allow people to become what they once were, somewhat credit worthy, improving their financial condition. Something this country must have to survive, to buy, to sell.

3- Take the billions placed into protecting private investors and invest in the homes of those on the brink of foreclosure for anyone holding a mortgage in default over current market value reducing that to fair market value and provide a fixed lower rate while providing the usual write off's. I would also reward investors who buy those homes from people about and before they go into foreclosure, not those who wait until they can but at 1/3 or less. They are the scavengers that started this whole mess.

4- Create the CCC of old and put construction workers back to work immediately rebuilding our infrastructure and providing disaster recovery options to area's in harms way, like California and Florida or the Coastlines. They can also build low cost housing and get these pole back into homes they can afford and revitalize the American dream for low income families. This alone would provide jobs for millions.

5- Save billions by eliminating all government help to illegal workers and having Mexico and other countries pick up the tab for their citizens already here illegally.

I would also add stop immediately all unfair trade deals that lose American jobs and reward those who create American jobs significantly. Eliminate or reduce our dependency on foreign workers by placing Americans in positions first and heavily fine those who do not comply, Not a slap your hand fine, but a major fine, even to the extent of jail time. I would limit immigration and green cards for only necessary positions that truly cannot be filled by Americans and none with positions that may effect National Security. I would also add a tax on those oil companies who do not invest to increase production to meet demand ASAP and who supplement regular gas with ethanol which damages mileage and engines. That money can be used to stimulate replacement fuel alternatives.

Now I'm no lawyer but I do believe in most of these cases the language could be simple and to the point with no drawn out if and when or type statements that in my opinion lawyers love to throw in that cloud it all. Lets say along the lines of, you shall change no interest above a flat 10%. I'm sure they can do it. In my opinion, simple, within reach and can do, if they want to. Will they, don't hold your breath, too complex for them, that is what you will hear. Yes the proof in what they do or in this case DON"T DO.
