This article is addressed to those who call themselves and profess to be believers and those who profess but do not the works of a believer. It is written for their spiritual contemplation and consideration. I judge no one, but leave it to yourself to consider which one you are.
We live in a very definitive time. I have spoken to the signs and symbols of hurt, despair, destruction of our neighbor which are all about us. It is in my opinion now a time of trial and test of who we really are, the Wolf or the Lamb? It is all about what you condone and will allow. In my opinion it is the time of separation. If we who profess but allow wrong, by fact we are no different then those who commit the act. The law calls that being an accomplice regardless if you did the actual deed.
In The Beatitudes of Woes. St. Luke writes Chapter 6 verse 24 in the New Catholic Action Bible
Is this not a sign and symbol of today as written by God through his apostle? Yes Gods Words speak of the "Messianic Woes" a time of great trouble and tribulation that fall upon mankind. However, we must as believers understand that there will a time that will precede this that we will be able to recognize by the signs and symbols of the age, one of them an increase in evil. It speaks of a separation, very definitively of the have and the have not and what afflicts the have not.
"He further states in verse 35 -But love your enemies and do good and lend, not hoping for any return, and your reward shall be great and you shall be children of the most high, for he is kind towards the ungrateful and evil. 36 Be merciful therefore even as your father is merciful."
Yes and finally as in mentioned in an earlier article this verse of Luke- 6, 46 -"But why do you call me Lord, lord and not practice the things that I say"?
So in this day of hardship of greed and exploitation, a great evil has descended upon our land. One in my opinion of our own making because what we have offered with our lips we have not done by our works. That is all who seek this worlds comforts in coveting for self.
Chapter 18 verse 34 sums it all up - But Jesus, seeing him became sad, said " with what difficulty will they who have riches enter the kingdom of God".
In St. Matthew Chapter 18 verses 23 - 35 speaks to the parable of the Unmerciful Servant. In verse 35 to sum it up it states very clearly -. "So also my heavenly father will do to you, if you do not each forgive your brothers from your hearts" In this case he was speaking of debts, financial obligations.
So we know as believers that those who do not believe place no trust nor comfort in the Word. So this is what the Lord speaks to as well. That some were made for the wrath so that the chosen shall believe. People say that the Word is hard to understand. Well that is not true if you look at it with an open mind, considering what is being stated and the lesson taught. It is in fact a simple message of love. However, for many, once hearing that lesson do not wish to hear any more. They prefer to continue in their ways even while professing the opposite. It convicts, like the rich man who wanted to be an apostle but could not part from his wealth, position and power. There his heart truly was.
Now Chapter 40 of the book of Ecclesiasticus verse 1 - 17 speaks very definitively to "The many miseries in a man's life". Since Adam and Eve until this present age. I have been writing to this for years now because I have always been impacted significantly by the wrongs perpetrated upon others in the guise of light, honesty, truth and virtue. Is it not true that we are quick to label and abuse the debtor but not the slick, greedy usury that led them to destruction. The slight of hand or word all "within the law". If you read my work you know what I speak and have spoken to. The facts of our society and world.
Did they hang Jesus on the cross for preaching what they feared was becoming a revolution of love? A love that frankly ate into the bottom line, profits and greed. Was that not at the root of it all power, greed, wealth? Is it not the same today?
Do we not understand that they do immediately what they must to save their own, without hesitation, yes even placing the burden upon the taxpayers, to bail out private business yet dally and they do it not for people! Yes and God is emphatic that we shall recognize them by their fruits.
Now in the eyes of God all men are equal, rich or poor, great or small. Each must stand before Him and when the book is opened, their works shall be known. What they have done and what they have failed to do. We can certainly take the Word as a guide and listen to what we ought not do or we can ignore the choice ours.
Yes people we must not despair when the trial comes upon us, for trials will always come to those who believe. It is as Jesus himself said multiple times. Yes you will be taken before kings and judges and be made to make an accounting but fear them no, do not fear what they can take, fear only he that can rob your soul. Regardless of their stature, position ,wealth or power you will know them by their fruit because the Wolf does not lay with the lamb nor does the rich with the poor.
