Is This What We Call a Christian Nation?

Ok lets get one thing out of the way right away. This is not addressed to those who live this life or at least try to as believers, or those who are not believers but practice the golden rule and decency and implement there beliefs in all they do, or at least try to. However, it is all about what many of us Americans are yearning for, CHANGE. No not any change, superficial change, but real change. That change in my opinion will never originate in the multitudes who in my opinion profess to be but are so far from the reality of it all. So far that they will never recognize nor understand what I am speaking about. They would prefer to be angry, call names, label, reject, ignore and just continue down the path they have chosen. Yes and all the while in my opinion "playing" at religion.

Now I will be the first one to admit that some may same I am judgmental and who am I to speak out judging them? Well if you know my works I do not label the individual only the works that precede or follow them. This is how we shall know who they are. I address the works that come from them.

So yes I'm tired of all the hollow marble and glass edifices for in my opinion they are but mere buildings. It is what is within that is important. Yes, I'm tired of all the social clubs. Yes I'm tired of all the facades. Does it matter to most, the majority, the many, the multitudes, no. That's in my opinion, not one bit because as I see it in what is all about me, the signs and symbols of life, they get up everyday and go to bed each night and frankly "they know not what they do" in between.

I have written so much to it all it could be condensed into a novel five times longer then the largest ever written and for what? It is in my opinion the facts of the matter laid before all. A testament for the future and history, should there be any? No not my personal one but that of this age.

So if your feathers are ruffled, well say a prayer for me because God knows I'm a sinner and need them, but understand this, look in that mirror first and examine yourself. See if you abide by what you profess in what you do, say, or fail to do? In your thoughts, in the words you use, in your attitude, in your deeds. Do you do for the least, for the love of neighbor, or is it sufficient to drop something in a box, write check, help out when all about billions are hurting. Yes and certainly right in your own backyard. Your neighborhood? I suspect we all fall short there?

Now for many they will be the first to say it is their choice, their bed to lie in, what they have done or failed to do. In that we have our answers. Yet are they any less important to the believer? Do they warrant less love for their failures or more? Is there not a lesson in the Word you profess concerning this? Do they warrant mercy, kindness, forgiveness even more then the practicing believer? You remember those lessons that the Preacher, Rabbi, Priest talk about, or are you nodding out, looking to leave early?

So how is it that we can ignore, walk past, not speak out, interceded, help, allow and all the while profess? Blatant sin, yes blatant sin, covered under the guise of being a Samaritan, a believer, a Christian. Yes ignoring the act, the commandment, the Word for your personal beliefs and agenda. Deliberate omission, half truths, ignoring, incomplete facts, redirection and we allow it.

So how do we justify the ruin of people for wealth, material goods, possessions and all the while keeping it in light? Saying what you do is for the good while it wrecks lives, shatters hopes, destroys families. Need I speak to what you has been ignored already? Yes, you know in your heart who I address. Do you feel the sting of the words, anger in your veins, hate. Why, because the truth does not let go. It burns deep, it cleanses, it convicts, if not that why be upset?

Could I or any do more, certainly. Do we all fail, certainly, do we all fall short, certainly. Yet the true believer, professor, Christian, picks up his cross each day and moves forward. Lecture no, fact.

So to you who allow this to take place. To you who covet what is done. You who ignore the misery, incompetence, mediocrity, greed, exploitation and every other evil, know this, in my opinion your heart cannot be where you may profess and even while one may profess ones works follow where ever they go. As the lord said there is no rock you can hide under.

Now what can we all do if we call ourselves a "Christian" nation? Well the answer is in what one professes to be. Change can be done very simply by showing it in our works. Understand this, you intellectuals who say God and Government do not mix, our Forefathers were not talking forcing religion upon anyone, evangelizing or dominating religious ideology. No, but we should understand explicitly if we say who we are, that it is in the doing of what we profess, that good change comes about.

It is as simple as can be, in our thoughts [thinking of people, love of neighbor, mercy and kindness first], in our words [not of confrontation, arrogance, anger and hate] and finally in our deeds,[what we have done or failed to do].
If we do not live up to this standard we are not who we profess to be. Yes all the eloquent speeches, words, promises and professions are meaningless without this.

So the answer to all, yes all our woes, is within us all and especially those in power. Do we need a book to tell us our sin and failure when we already know our hearts? It is my opinion if we all do what I have just said, then we will rise from the ashes and this will truly become a land once more "for the common good of all". One nation, under God, indivisible, with unity and justice FOR ALL.

Amen, Robert - with what you've written, what can I add? I wonder what would happen if we were in a room together talking since we absolutely think the same on so many issues. God bless you my friend and please keep penning your thoughts!

We would make a great campaign team, yet I wonder how far they would let it go? I must say I do keep writing because of encouragement from you, the staff at searchwarp and the many good people who respond kindly to me. There are a lot of good people out there who think like us. But Judi we can make a statement election day. Vote them all out, period. For the sake of doing it. best regards as always. Robert

i don't know, robert -- i tend to get "a little worked up" although, yes, i've mellowed with age -- before i married, i went to DC often to lobby against different issues and once was in the room with the senators and having a discussion head on with senator kennedy - geez, was he giving me the political "answer a question with a question" nonsense... i know you're italian and, im part so does that create fireworks or passion? (smile) - seriously, we CAN'T afford to sleepwalk during these times!
