When All Else Fails.

When all else fails what does one have left but hope? That is in my opinion where America is today. In my opinion that is why you see people flocking to these candidates. They truly believe there is no choices left and that these candidates will change things. I just finished an article "If it wasn't so sad" which in many ways sums it up.

I have always been an advocate of signs and symbols, what one does or fails to do what is said and not said and what does that really infer? Yet, there are few who observe in this manner and frankly there are few who understand what I am trying to elaborate on. Our government is quite frankly out of control at every level. By fact one hand does not know what the other is doing to use an old cliche. It is that way in many businesses, yet they are self perpetuating, anywhere you go it is the same everywhere.

If I as one writer and many others have not defined over the course of many years the issues of today and their root causes then what else is there to say? Many people agree but frankly they do nothing but continue to gripe. Let someone else do it or say it. I am sure we have all heard it at work, this one is this, that one doesn't, she isn't, who is supposed to, why do they, that's not my job and I can't understand why someone doesn't say something to someone? Hey, got a mirror? Well go look in it. Yes, always waiting for someone else to do it for them.

It sums up where we are as a nation. The boss says its cold out so you put on a jacket. Whatever to keep the boss happy. It doesn't matter if the job isn't done, they don't pay me enough and they abuse me and I don't like my job. Take a few more minutes for lunch, take a day off, so what. On the other hand the boss can never seem to find good help. Americans, well they are just not qualified and they cost too much. So what options, you got it outsource. Pay them less, work them harder and look the other way, it does wonders for justification. Yes no loyalty either way.

So when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing who really gives a damn, pay or else, "I just work here". Now as for our leaders, one might ask if they even work at all. Rhetorically, If they were subject to At Will employment they wouldn't be around too long. When they do work not many decisions made. They too always need "experts", "committee's", "consensus" and don't do anything without the blessings of you know who, no matter what is agreed on. Yes, a lot of kissing up and not much getting done, or done right. God forbid you issue a credit. Always enough time and money to do it over.

So if you are still unsure about what I am talking about all I can do is pray for you or say go back and read some of my older work. It is the same today as it was then, no different. Just go down the list. Go down the list of everyday issues you have to deal with from customer service, to securing insurance, to paying taxes, to trying to rectify a problem or incorrect information, or getting so called help from our government.

Yes, I have come to realize I am a unique being more then ever and that the masses of people, regardless of that degree, their position in life, wealth or social status, well they just do not care unless it impacts them. They say the opposite, gripe, complain but for the most part they continue feeding in the pasture. One gate closes and another opens. Why worry, be happy as the song says.

So it all boils down in my opinion to "when all else fails" hope, period. If that fails, well what can one say? We can always hope again. After all someone will come along that is packaged nicely, speaks well, tells you what you want to hear, stirs your emotions and gets you excited but don't expect much more then what you got and just keep hoping. Ther is always a new batch in the wings.

Yes, like my earlier article "Its time to play the game", the game continues. So here is my prediction. Nothing of any real consequence will change. Yes, a few bones here or there, a few superficial things to clam the masses down and everyone will go home proud of what they accomplished. Hey, and that's a fact Jack as the movie line goes.

Sarcastic yes, and I am sorry if I offend. Frustrated, yes and I am sorry for that. Why, because as much as I would like to believe and hope and desire, we, meaning the world and all humans for the most part, the great majority, are not who and what we profess top be. We all fall short and fail but only a few recognize that. What do I have left, hope, but with one variation. What's that, I trust in no man and there lies the difference. I want to see it in works and deeds and what is done and not. So the challenge is to explain where you have seen what they have done or failed to do and why you place all your hope in them?
