Why Third Parties Usually Do Not Work.

Why third parties usually do not work is in my opinion because of one word called unity. There is in my opinion no focus on the common good. We don't have it with the major parties and certainly not with these third parties either. They have their agenda and perspective and eliminate the mass majority who may be willing with a more centrist approach to come on over while not betraying their ideals.

Here are but a few of the factors which contribute to that opinion-

1- A weak candidate slate. Unknown or limited known candidates, few local and regional candidates and few to none nationally recognized candidates.

2- Financial problems and personality divisions. In other words everyone has their own idea's.

3- The wrong or limited agenda and focus. Not broad based enough.

4- Of course many are considered on the fringes and in many cases anti American or radical by mainstream Americans.

So even when we see a Ralph Nader jump into the fray the factors above limit any real challenge. He will draw a small percentage but in the long run it will just serve to reelect one or the other of the major candidates. Regretfully and eliminating the fringe parties because of the wide divergence of views, they cannot unite even the larger third parties for the common good.

So now at this very historical moment we do not hear even a peep or a sound out of any of these parties? Why, well I have just explained that. They really and truly in my opinion, although professing the common good, do as the rest, look out for their common good and not the good of all.

So while looking at opportunities for joining a third party effort reality had to come home. I am too practical not to see the division that makes them not viable. Now should they unite behind a candidate of national renown who can appeal to a cross spectrum of Americans and one who does not support the same ideology, they may stand a chance. Ralph Nader, well scoff if you must but you cannot say you do not know the man by his works. He does what he says and can you say the same for the others? Certainly when a Ron Paul cannot break the inner circle, who is as different a man as the entire lot of them, does that not say that America, while griping, is really content? Yes, content but just whining and really loves the cover?

So what are the choices left? There really are few to none. They could flip a coin now and save everyone a lot of money and time. Yes, all the fanfare, show and glitz is in my opinion meaningless. Yes, only to those who run around truly believing there will be change, with no factual reason to base it on, does that matter to and you will never change their thinking. No, they are the people of now, the Easter Bunny, the Book by Its Cover, looks good, I want it now bunch, part of the group or crowd of history makers and because many of us will do nothing we will get more of the same.

Yes, more of the same like our President who " heard gas prices are about $4.00 a gallon". I guess he relly doesn't know what average people contend with, does he? Congress who in my opinion plays follow the leader, who ever these leaders really are and third parties, well, enough said.

I will continue to foster my belief that unless change is made in Congress and interestingly Mr. Obama has come to the same conclusion as well [he must be reading my articles, a little humor] as reported by the AP today on the Web-

In remarks, Obama said more is needed than just "to change faces in the White House," but that the country "needs a change of leadership". Just what can one say?

Well Obama is of course alluding to the Democrats, his party. In my opinion more of the same and another no solution from him. No the real change is Flip them all and change them where we can.

Yes as I have been saying for quite awhile now, change Congress. Yes, send the word, sound the horn, change Congress. We the Peopleare taking our government back and it is starting in November by giving the boot to every incumbent we can find. Pass it to friends, relatives, those you work with, those you go to clubs with all you can to vote the incumbents all OUT!

Now if Obama can only reconcile abortion and Comprehensive Immigration perhaps I would vote for him. Yet, I do not see that happening. So it is up to all to vote their conscience concerning those issues. As for me regardless who become the President we must change Congress.
