Ok how is REAL change going to be made?

Here is a question for anyone if they care to answer it? Now this is not about any individual's personal life outside of their respective political office. It does however cut right to the chase of who these Presidential Candidates say they are in office and what they say they will do to bring about change.

So here is the question. How are these Presidential hopefuls going to bring about real change when by fact the same old tired, tried and true Washington crowd they will have to work with as President who will for he most part still be there when the new President takes office. Yes, Mel Marteniz, Mr. Nelson, Mr. Graham, and of course Kennedy, Pelosie, Feinstein, Reid and on and on and on. Will they not still be there?

So here is the confusing part. Does not Obama by his own words say these are the same ones who caused this mess? I'm confused, many are his associates, friends, mentors, allies and it can be applied to the others as well? Is he aware these same ones will still be there, or is he hoping they will somehow be gone? I guess they all will be born again with a new ideology, direction, change, right? They will all work together for the common good, right? Yes, just look at how they all pulled together for the Stimulus Package, right? Doesn't that prove it to any skeptics that are out there? Rhetorically, they have seen the light and emerged different. Wow, I'm excited aren't you?

Rhetorically, should we ask if it just might have had something to do with a "bailout" to help the wealthy? Oh, I'm wrong, oh, yes I see, it was to help us get that new iPod. So along with that we are to now believe that both sides of the isle will be united through some great leadership we have not seen demonstrated these last years and decades, right? The President will speak the words of direction, because, we all know how powerful words are right and all will automatically follow to the tune, right? Things will get done because it is right to do so for the people, right?

So just what am I alluding to? Just how is it that we are as a people so gullible? Well I apologize if you do not like that word but logically I just do not see change as evidently you do happening. Just how will it be accomplished? Is the magic of Obama's verbal skills going to somehow do what he hasn't been able to do all along? Is McCain all of a sudden going to bring power to bear and get things like Comprehensive Immigration reform passed? Is Hillary going to do the same? Is it because we made history?

Hey, believe it or not the same old bunch, with the same old ways, with the same old tried and true ideology. Real change is made by We the People and not these politicians.

Hey, believe what you want but their works go before them. Take off the blinders of race, sex, religion, agenda and try to look through the smoke The only real change in my opinion and I do mean the only real change is if you change Congress, period. Sit home and your protest is worthless, meaningless, void. They will remain in power and that is all that matters to them. It is what it is, period.

How can we do that? Well if we look at Paul, Huckabee, Romney and Edwards and we might hope their supporters are not so happy with any of the Big Three, they just might go out and vote their incumbents out, maybe? There is at minimum a real decent percentage that could just assist in making change, real change.

Now throw in all the rest who have not voted in these Republican and Democratic primaries, that 60% of American who realizes these are the very same types who led us down this path, get them out to vote and you then have a real chance of changing Congress. That in my opinion is where the bell will sound and the alarm will be heard.

So my friends when things do not come out just as you thought they would. When the blame gets passed around to he, she, they are we going to blame poor Obama or say, what could he do? Might we say poor Mr. McCain, no one liked him and that is why he couldn't get anything done and the same for Hillary? Will we say "they" made it hard on them to do anything, or are we going to hone up to the truth that to keep these same ones in office will bring no more then the same. Hey, don't like the truth well sorry it is what it is and no dance around it will change any of it. It is what it is, period.

If you like what they do, all of them the simple fact is you will elect them, or by your doing nothing and they will get in through those who do vote. Yet, if you do not like what they do, please do not complain if you do not vote. You certainly have the right to, but you have reaped what you have sown. Evidently you are content regardless of what you profess outwardly. You see in my opinion professing, while words, are worthless and empty without works. It is what it is, period.

Frustrating isn't it Robert. Sometimes this whole thing makes me embarrassed to be a part of any of it. I always thought , the only problem with voting for any office is...you only get to vote for a politician. I professional bull$hitter. A speech reading, promise making, power hungry rich person ( go ahead, name me one that wasn't well off) This has come down to the lesser of two evils ..in which case McCain should win.

Well thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated. I also write on problogs and feel the problem is in changing Congress. You are correct these persons all have wealth. So why would anyone of wealth be for something that gives to others, even if it is a trickle? Money is all about money and making more. Now the same old tired bunch is running and will get elected. Obama says he will keep them honest, yea right. Let the young and foolish believe that. We can see the apathy all over and that in my opinion will not work. What will work is to vote them all out. That will send a message loud and clear. We have nothing else. Vote every single incumbent out and put a new face in. That is the message. Do not do for the common good and you will go also. Thanks for responding, best wishes. RTM

Right again Robert. But if we believe the old ones are going to get kicked out, we are only dreaming. It is really weird that the really good candidates don't make it to first base. And I'm talking about congress as well as president. Our system of government, of the people, by the people and for the people has fizzled out. It is now a government for the money, by the special interests, of the non-informed. And I foresee a worsening. Good article and a good comment by Michael.

Yes, Joel, I have to agree the choices are few to none. However, it is the message I am talking about. I now write on Problogs and have just finished a piece on "the Common Good". In reality we have reaped what we have sown. If we sit back and do nothing we will have sent a message once again that we have no hope and they have a free ride. For Obama to think we the people will keep them in line is an idelaist dream. We can't keep him in line. No the only thing Washington understands is as example when Comprehensive Immigration failed to pass. yes, our voices demonstrated they fear the vote. So my friend, go to the polls and take with you as many as you can and make a change that will shock them all. Vote them all out. Remember it starts with one. Tell your family, your friends, your church, spread the word. As for President it does not mattter they ahve given us their choices, simple and pure. No real difference just the package. My friend if we do not do we have only oursleves to blame. I know I can deliver at least 30 votes. How about you? It could just make a difference? Best wishes as always RTM
