A"Fierce Urgency of Now"!

Yes a "fierce urgency of now" Dr. King, Jan 1967, Brooklyn NY called for the embrace of all humanity with unconditional love, which is the belief of all major religions Christianity, Buddhist, Jewish and Muslim. It is what we profess as believers in those faiths and demonstrate we are and adhere to by our works. However, if true, then I only have one question, why is this world what it is? If we who say we are believers and followers then why would we need change? Would those who profess already be doing that as the works of whom they follow? Do these who lead also profess the same, many if not all of them? You mean it is the non believers who are the problem? Are there not any good people who don't believe as we do? So if your answer is of course, then once again, why would we believe change will work based on the works of man unless God Himself brings it about and no mortal man? Believers know the answer to that already.

Now any man can latch onto the great words of a famous individual. It is like a great actor whose performance brings to life that person. You can literally envision and feel what the person may have really been like in the portrayal. Many actors practice tone, inflection emphasis to portray the person as accurately as possible. The pause, the twang, gesture or whatever brings them as close to the real persons humanity as possible. They may even have the qualities that person exhibited making them even more realistic in the mind of the one hearing, hence an increased belief or false hope.

It is evident people are mesmerized by the words of a great man and attach in memory to that man and hope of that vison that it will come to be once again and be fulfilled. Who wouldn't be. Well my friends, wake up to reality. Yes, to the vision, but it does not mean that those who speak the words can do what that specific man did.

Now anyone, especially a politician, an actor, a person who is a leader can size the moment, size the concept, seize the inspiration, take the spark and use the words and make it theirs while espousing the author. Do not ministers do this daily? A person with the gift of presence, tongue, speech can literally take control and use it for their ends. No denying that, look at Jones Town or Hitler? It is called charisma. Hey it is the truth as simple as that.

So we must fall back to the only thing man has to determine that possibility and that is the works of the other who portrays or uses the words of greatness to motivate others. Yes, when we examine the record do we see Dr, Kings values in deeds? Like it or not it is the true measure of a persons ideology and beliefs. Not what they say but what they do. If we do see that which we believe, then no problem. Yet if we fail to look are we mesmerized?

So we can go on and on about what these politicians have done or failed to do. So let me ask you if the works speak to the love Dr. King spoke to? Yes, are you positive of their deeds and do they really match your beliefs? Can it be they speak but words and only the words we all like to here, nothing else? Have we heard them before - New Orleans, Motor City, etc, etc, etc? Have you heard them before and whatw were the results? It is different this time you say, why?

No, my friends it is not only Washington that needs change, a Washington by the way these candidates are all a part of regardless of what they say. No, what Dr. King was talking to was truth, a Born Again change in us all . Why, because if all men were who they profess, Buddhist, Christian, Jew or Muslim then this article and the condition and plight of man would not be what it is and their deeds would not allow it.
