The power of FAITH!

Just the other day I read an article, one of many about the power of positive thinking and how we are to be smiling, happy and joyful as we walk through life. In my opinion it is man's way of teaching Gods lessons.
However, certainly, as a Christian we are to walk in faith, that is think positive. This is what we are to do. I just lost a good friend, a gentle man to cancer. He went from 300 lbs to nothing and suffered every day. Yet, when asked how are you doing his reply was "I'm doing great'. Now that was a saint. Yes, a good man and father. Yes he didn't think of himself as he was just doing what came naturally to him and doing that who he professed to be. Yet in doing so he brought love, compassion ,caring to his family and you did it for all. " Genesis 20:13 and when God had me wander from my fathers household, I said to him this is how you can show your love to me: Everywhere we go, say of me, "he is my brother".
Now in James Chapter One verses 7 and 8 it says "Therefore not let such a one think that he will receive anything from the Lord being a double minded man, unstable in all his ways". So here we have the answer to unanswered prayer. You profess but do not do, nor really believe.
We can and once again I will say it, profess all we want, project ourselves as holy, pious religious, believers but and that but is crucial, if we do not truly believe and have faith and trust that we will receive what we ask, we just will not receive. After all, we are using our human intellect and reasoning, I don't expect it. It hasn't happened before and why should I expect it, woe is me.
So the power of positive thinking is in reality faith and trust. It can be defined as trust in something which there is no proof. You just believe it and accept it and in doing so there is no doubt. Yet we know that even with the saints and as humans doubt does come into the picture. It did with a great person named Mother Teresa. It even came to Christ on the cross as an example to us that we are but mere mortals and subject to fail. Think about all that He taught and you will understand the lesson.
So the key to it all is faith and works and trust. But there is also a crucial lesson that my friend taught us as well. That is to never wear a frown but to understand, as it is stated in Isaiah 53:11 "after the suffering of his soul he will see the light of life and be satisfied by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many and he will bear their iniquities. Meaning he suffered for the sins of many and thus paid their price for them into God's Kingdom.
Tell me that is not someone to admire and hold up as a Saint, a hero, a husband, a Father, a man! Pray for us good and faithful friend that the Lord will heal our doubts and that we too would walk in faith, trust and without a frown showing who we are in our works and our love of our brother, Amen!
