The Wake Up Series as a series of articles presenting real and hypothetical considerations.
I wish one could add music to the words for it enhances and stirs the spirit and assists in understanding. So, I will have to do with my inadequacy to try and make the point. I make no judgement on right or wrong I just point out what I percieve and offer my opinion. Like everything it is your choice to do as you desire.
At the very end of the book and movie Chingachgook, Hawkeye's adopted father and last of the Mohicans, to paraphrase what he says, that a new breed of people are coming to the land, a land they once lived and settled and this world will never be the same for people like him. So just what are the parallels?
Well exploitation and greed head the list as usual. No doubt about that. It was then, is now and perhaps always was and will be? Oh sure they threw a bone here and there, a reservation or so and then if there was something of value they took it back. Pretty much the same today as it was then like what we hear today of wars and rumors of wars and those bills that will help us all and are good for us. Well yes, that is one constant man cannot seem to do without. War makes money and it creates wealth and exploitation is part of the human fabric.
Oh, the land of their time was pristine, clean water, animals to hunt galore, fresh air and no ozone problem. Yes, little did they realize in their simple life that they had it all? Of course they were no angels. They also waged war against each other. That human need to covet what someone else has, or what can be obtained, or to imrove the bottom line lying ever present and ready to emerge.
Certainly they, like nations today, forced their way of life on those who were more peaceful or they had it forced upon them. Yet, the lesson of war, hate, exploitation, greed and all the other negatives came not only from those who settled for wealth but those who were here and greeted them and who also saw opportunity to rid themselves of their enemies or gain something they never had before.
Like I said, mixed in between were those who just were there to fish, farm, hunt and raise a family in peace were the takers of that age. The settlers who came looking for a new life, prosperity and to escape persecution were and still are the fodder and "assets", just like today, for those who want power, wealth, money. Like I have stated many times, wealth is not wrong it is how it is obtained and used that can create the evil.
So here we are today. Those who today call themselves Americans are in my opinion just like the Mohicans of those days. The Mohicans were the true Americans of that age and the Europeans vanquished them and in justice we today who say we are Americans are vanishing as sure as they did, with one exception. Those who remain might call themselves Americans, they may call themselves something else, but will the term “American" actually may not actually mean the same in the future as it does now. It just might mean a citizen of the “America‘s? Yes, only time will tell.
Yes and like the Mohicans of that day those who just want to raise a family, hold a job, live in peace and security and provide from the abundance this land could and might offer is slowly disappearing, changing and being absorbed by an ideology with only one goal a Global system for the wealthy. In my opinion the citizens of this nation will over time and eventually be so diluted, just like the Mohicans, there will be few to none true and full blooded Americans as we call ourselves today. No, just those who can say they have that bloodline in them.
Now as the society of man goes this is not a negative. After all we are all human. However, what I am speaking to is a way of life, a culture, a belief system. Perhaps that system, which was once considered that which all men sought, is evidently no longer viable? So as that changes so does the spirit of the nation, the culture, the values and the character of that nation yes and even the DNA and physical nature of that nation. You may think not, you may not care, you may be non interested but the fact is, you who agree are impacting your very own as well, you are in truth bringing about the change and possible demise of a people and a way of life.
Harsh, crazy, insane or whatever you wish to believe it is happening right before your very eyes. Now some call that progress, some call that good but the facts are no one knows for sure. Only that this society, like the Mohicans in my opinion, is going the same way. Just what will it be like in the future?
The answer is simple. It will be the same 100, 1000 or even a billion years from now if we as humans are still around. As long as people long for wealth and power the same ills will persist. There is only one hope and those that know what I am speaking to do not need me to clarify it. Best wishes.

However although I have a strong faith in Jesus I don't believe there will be a judgment day. It is up to us to make the world a better place and stop taking the easy way out by referring to the Bible for all the answers. "This is my belief"Please log in to respond to this comment.David that is what separates us all, choice. It matters not your personal beliefs or anyones for that matter becuase while we may respect them and a persons right to have them we all hold our own. Therfore what I refer to in my articles is the same, to believe, accept, reject or provide as you did an alternative. David, in my opinion only, because one uses the Bible or quotes from it or for that matter uses any source as input it does not necessarily detract from that which the writer is trying to get across. I always appreciate your perspective, thoughts and comments although we do not always agree. best wishes, respectfully, Mr. MelaccioPlease log in to respond to this comment.
