When Your Trust Is Betrayed.

When a persons trust is betrayed the results can run a multiple of reactions from simple expectation to devastation. Trust is defined in general terms as follows:
When we say we have trust in someone we always depend on the character, integrity, morals and honesty of that person or entity in which our confidence is placed, such as a duty imposed in faith on someone who holds office, a position, or our government.
Now here are some examples. The St. Pete Times has an article today on "trust". In Florida some years ago they asked the voters to pass the lottery bill to be applied toward education to enhance it and help reduce taxes. The voters passed that bill and guess what. You got it, the money went toward education but they replaced that which was to be budgete d and used it somewhere else and today they are asking once again for trust to help reduce taxes. Now school taxes have been creaping higher and higher. How does that old saying go as the writer asks, "fool me once shame on you, etc". Yes, and these same legislators are now saying once again- trust me. I think the Times made a good point.
Now the federal government is asking us to trust them to secure our borders, put up a fence and enforce the laws of this new proposed immigration bill. Yes, these same types who wove the deal in secret and are called "the grand bargainers". You know them all and you still "trust them"? Now since 9/11 have they done that and you still believe them? Ok, you still believe them? Ok, once again just to let it sink in, you still "trust them"? They have even placed border agents in jail for doing their job and let the criminal go and actually rewarded them, a fact, and they have rarely enforced the current law and millions are still coming into country daily and still no fence even though the money is there for it. Yes, and people still trust them. A salesmans dream come true.
How about Katrina, ok we all know that one, yet, people still trust them. "Good job Browny". I guess Browny trusted and look where he wound up? I guess Scooter as well? Heres some older ones, “read my lips, no new taxes". Yes, you are right we got new taxes. How about “I did not have sex with that women". No, you were playing tag I suppose? Yet people still “like him and his rating is high". One must ask why? Why, I suspect one needs to read my artcile on Character.
Is lying, conniving, omission, deceit, redirection all qualities we admire these days? I suppose the balatant breaking of law, committing felony and all the while saying it is not and ignoring it is called "trust". Like "trust me" this is good for American familes. Yes, President Bush said that and you certainly trust him, right? Yes, but one wonders whose families?
So as I sit here I reflect on my own articles once again and realize what is happening has to happen. It is all part of a bigger plan. The people doing it are doing it for other reasons but it doesn’t matter. They will do it regardless of what average people think. "Thy will be done", but in my opinion when they hear Thy they think it applies to them.
In fact they suspect we are all complacent, fat and apathetic to even care and they are most likely right. Our cupboards are all over flowing and we are all living the good life, right? Not all but evidently most? I for one think not but then again who am I.
Yes, those who call, write, e-mail are making their voices heard should keep it up. Yet, think about this, and I apologize but I’ll talk straight and direct to you, “THEY DON’T GIVE ONE DAMN WHAT YOU WANT OR THINK". They only react when it impacts them in their wallet or their ideology.
Yes, if you can vote for a person, group or people who consistently break your trust then it speaks volumes to what you will accept and the type of person you are. Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude but it does.
Now here is a hard example. You know your child is drinking and driving. You confront them and they say they will stop, but they don’t. Yet, you “trust" them because they “never lie to you" . Life goes on and all is well. Then one day the knock on the door. Yes, the bad news. Now your entire position changes and you say, “I should have never trusted them".
Yes, you knew the truth but it was more comfortable not to face the issue. As long as you were not impacted you hoped they were telling you the truth. However, once you find that trust broken it just may be too late.
Yes, it is exactly the same with those whom you place you sacred vote for. You place your trust in them to do what is right for you.
Well I’ll end with this like I do with many an article, just what have they done for you? Ok, I’ll ask it again mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, just what have they done for you?
You couldn’t list ten things that have impacted you favorably unless you are one of that 20% who own 80% of it all. Yes, those people are happy as a pig in a dirt pit and that is what it is.
So think about this when you review that long line of the same types, the same ones who in my opinion say one thing but do the opposite, who have been around for years and belong to the same clubs, organizations and hold the same ideology. If that’s what you want then remember this, you get what you sow so stop wondering why or asking why. When your trust is broken or abused just say to them thank you, we expected nothing less from you, good job now what else will you tell us that we want to hear about but you will do the opposite?

Trust is reliance on the character, integrity, morals and honesty of a person or entity. Someone who holds political office has sworn to fulfill the duties of that office. So why is it that, time after time, when we hear those who are running for office saying loud and clearly “trust me," and we vote for them because we believe in them, the results are usually the complete opposite of what they professed. We never check their records, past deeds or actions, or what they professed before we placed our trust in them. Yes, we consistently fall into the same trap. It is evidently a weakness of mankind for good people to believe the best of others who lie to get what they want. Now here are some examples. The St. Pete Times has an article today on "trust". In Florida, some years ago, they asked the voters to pass a lottery bill which would provide money to be applied toward education and help reduce taxes. The voters passed that bill and guess what - the money went toward education, but the legislators reduced money for education by a similar amount and used that money for other purposes. Today they are asking us once again fotor trust them to reduce taxes. Now school taxes have been creeping higher and higher. How does that old saying go as the writer asks, "Fool me once shame on you, etc". Yes, and these same legislators are now saying once again- trust me. I think the Times made a good point. I like the content, but compare what I left out and what I added. Try to make things more specific and less repetitious. Don't assume everyone will "guess right" and see things as you do. Just express your point of view. Good luck..Please log in to respond to this comment.
