Did Jesus Break the Law To Spread His Message and Help the Poor?

This seems to be a very profound question for an evidently perplexed nation and society concerning illegal workers, law and amnesty. Now the simple, clear and decisive answer to that is, no. Jesus did not break the law. He never broke the law and even when being arrested and condemned He never broke the law but, and here is the key word He “submitted" to the law. He went meekly along with the law. Not becuase it was just what He had to do, no, because he stated you should obey and submit to authority! There is no other way around it if you say you believe in His Word. Why so we insist on Selective Application?

As one example, we all know His well-known remark and answer to a question posed to trap Him “ render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and render unto God that which is Gods."

In other words the Jews of that time were looking for a “political leader" to, and get this, lead them in an armed insurrection against the Romans and their society at that time. Jesus was not about breaking the law. He encouraged all to live by the law and obey those in authority. He was not about to undermine the government in power regardless of its moral status.

So nowhere in my opinion in this issue can anyone of faith find anything that says a religious should condone, aide or abet someone breaking the law in a minor or major fashion.

Now that is not to say that they could not have compassion for them. That is not to say they can’t work peacefully to remove exploitation and poverty. However, there are agencies and we all know the cost to the American taxpayer who are and have assisted these people. Yet, nowhere do you see our Senators and nowhere do you see the pious religious talking about Mexico and their involvement and role in the creation, exploitation and abuse of their own citizens. And nowhere do you hear talk of them in a solution.

So lets clarify in truth once again that Jesus did not condone breaking the law. In fact if we are professed followers of His then we cannot by nature of church law and Gods law sin and commit crime. That is even passing a stop sign or running a light and certainly not forging and using stolen ID which is civil law. For if we break one we break both.

So, just where has truth gone?

Well it is another sign of the times we live in. For pastors, priests to not speak to the truth is also being a part of the problem and sharing in the sin for it is sin. These people know they break the law, deliberately and they use other criminal activities to secure what they want. Where are the church leadership in speaking out? You know in hiding because it is an important issue. I ask did Jesus keep silent concerning the truth? Well we all know that answer is a resounding NO. Yet, He did it in peace and love not viloent and massive protests.

Now certainly if Mexico and the United states got together and provided assistance in Mexico, the expenses here on our taxpayers and the impact on our nation would be reduced significantly and help both peoples. Yet, we hear nothing of that, nothing. We hear little to nothing of the employers who hire them here. Oh sure a few show and tell events. They also break the law and are accomplices to this tragedy.

No all we here are the lies, cover-up, misdirection, half-truths and deceit, which in my opinion is to fulfill their own agendas.

So certainly and in fact Jesus did not break the law, condone the breaking of law, nor participate in a revolution even though there was persecution, poverty, injustice. He came to tell people there are trials on earth and there will be for all His followers. That the earth will not offer you peace and rest and the material things of this world will not make you happy. He came to save souls and open the gates of heaven.

So to you my brothers and sister who see fit to break the law under the guise that Jesus would want you to do it, think hard and think long? No, in my opinion He would not want you to break the law. He would want you to work within the system for justice. But that justice includes those who are also exploited by any sinful ways and also incur financial and other hardships because of your actions and those of illegal workers.

So work for these poor exploited people but work in the light of truth that all, not just they, are exploited and that all, including nations have a moral obligation to solve this sin.

True, the real sinners are those in the leadership position. They should follow the role Jesus played and feed the hungry, at what ever cost. I don't have children, however if I did and I had to break the law just to get a job to feed my kids I would. Many who break the law are working for the Lord. "My beliefs anyway"
