The Sad and Pathetic Creatures Called Man.

Now before I start lets get past all the “good" things in life like money, wealth, power, position, material possessions and yes family. I left family for last because that is the object of this article. You see family is not only those who you consider by birth and relationship your immediate family it represents the family of man. Yes, we are all family, we are all the same on the inside but we are shaped by that we learn and are tought good or bad. There is no middle ground it is either one more then the other. We either do good or we do bad and we are consistent about it. Even those who strive for good, because of mans nature, fail regularly. But at least they are aware and strive to maintain good.
Now let me get to the gist of what I am writing. For the most part we are a“family" of persons and then of mankind. However how many live that “family" life is the subject of this article.
Lets look at many aspects of man that play into this. Well for one man honors those who were victorious in history and today. You know Alexander the Great who subjected the known world of his time. Caesar, Napoleon, Genghis Chan, Moa, etc. and the list is really quite long. They were the doers we look up to. Rhetorically one asks where are the peace lovers and makers?
You see they took what they wanted for personal gain and glory and killed, maimed, murdered, plotted, stole, raped and whatever other negative aspect all to become the most powerful ruler in the world. To say they accomplished this and that it was magnificent is to say quite clearly that is a fact and we evidently approve. Oh, you honor the man for his courage, triumphs and deeds? Ok, like I say that is the issue.
If we look around today we have religious war all over the globe and we see the fact that humans are killing other humans in the name of God. Boy, God sure is busy making sure His creation is being killed off, subjugated, maimed, murdered, raped and abused. It is a full time job. When one makes peace God evidently has to get back into stirring up hate other wise there is a problem.
Rhetorically, is this the God who these religions all say is a God of Love and Mercy? That He loves us all? I’m sorry I have a hard time equating my God to that God who wants to have us kill, etc.
Muslims, who in there very own beliefs, are taught by Mohammed to seek love as the highest level of spiritual attainment. Yet, they would rather argue among themselves over Jihads meaning. Christians claim to love Jesus but Jesus only taught love, not hate, envy, exploitation, abuse, etc, etc, etc. Budda is another example of love but do we see it in his followers as well? There are numerous other religions that profess love as their base and they have millions of followers, yet, they also are in the military and spread their ideology via the sword.
Oh yes, you can say there are true followers of peace and love in every religion. They are usually mocked, outcasts, ridiculed and labelled as "dreamers". Well they are the dreamers of how it is supposed to be and not what it is. However, what I am writting to are the masses who profess one thing but do the complete opposite. Yes, the world is full off the opposite. How do we know?
Well let’s look at the following few items and I do mean few examples.
1- does war stem from love?
2- does murder, rape and pillage stem from love?
3- how about exploitation of the poor and needy? Does that stem from love?
4- how about illegal acts and the breaking of law and society values and expectations?
5- how about greed and excessive profits for personal ideology and selfishness?
6- how about abusing children in all forms?
7- how about drugs, alcohol, sex, and other vices, are they out of love or desire?
8- how about the unemployed, the starving, the sick, financially hard pressed and the dying are they neglected out of love?
9- how about billions upon billions directed to war and the machinery of war?
10 how about abuse of the environment through polution, waste and misuse?
Well I am sure you can add a few here and there but I don’t have the print space to do it. So what I am getting at is regardless if you want to list all the wonderful things of life, and there are many good things but only short lived, it is the sad and pathetic facts that influence and impact us all each day. It is also that we only have a short while or period on this earth and we can choose how to live it. While on this earth we can all elect to live peacefully and in harmony sharing and helping each other and not competing and fighting tooth and nail for power, wealth, glory or continue the ways of our forefathers as listed above or continue the path to destruction we are on and do each day.
Now as a Christian I understand more fully then ever why God had to send His only Son. He destroyed the world already once and quite frankly this is a good God. He sent His only begotten Son the die for our sins. Oh, we don’t have any you say? Well quickly get the mirror. You see we would never make it without Jesus.
Can you imagine the God of Love having to sit on His thrown and look down on us and not hurt miserably about what we do? No you can't because it must be over powering even for Him. In fact so much so that while he can end it at any second He holds back out of love, pure and simple.
Yes, the gate is narrow and few enter and God only speaks truthwhen He said He will return to bring peace not war . So unless we all embrace humbleness and love, regardless of our faith we will continue down the path that is against the God of Love.
So let me leave with this one question for you and only you since your salivation and eternity depend only on you. If you do the things and worse that I have mentioned herein do you really expect you are in agreement with the God of love and the creator of all and the God of Love?
Because mankind is evidently incapable of doing it on his own even with all his education, material wealth and power, God will USE those whom he has selected to bring about the end to all of it. However, keep this in mind and as I mentioned above, no matter what faith, God never comes to start or spread war He comes to END WAR! Think about that long and hard.
