This Is No World For Decent People!

Yes, this is no world for decent people and that is a fact. So you say what constitutes decent? Well in my opinion these are the people who have compassion, show mercy, have integrity, honor and virtue. These are the people that work hard, never steal, and love their family and their neighbors. These are those who show fidelity and you can trust and who say what they say in truth and not hidden or behind someone’s back. They don’t connive and they are always there to lend a hand. Yes, these are some of the characteristics of decent people. It does not mean that they are perfect and do not fail, it just means they live as the word defines.
These are the ones in power who lay people off for increased profits or to impress the boss. They are the ones who kill for their own agenda and beliefs. These are the ones who will sell out their neighbor, nation and family for their own needs and gain. These are the ones who say one thing but do another. They lie, cheat, steal and think nothing of it because to them it as normal as eating or evacuating each day. Yes, these are what in my opinion most people are and that is the true sad part.
Why do I say that? Well I see, heard and experienced the arrogant and proud. I’ve seen the hurt in the innocent and decent at their hands. I’ve seen the tears, anxiety and fear in decent people and the dread of not knowing how they were going to make ends meet or place food on the table only to have some bureaucrat tell them they were investigating or they’re not qualified. I've seen the tears in a child who is abused by a parent who could care less about anything but their own needs and wants. Yes, I've seen it in so called friends who turn on you as soon as someone else picks up their needs or provides more. Yes, it is at work, church, business and in life. Yes, it is there right before your eyes to see. That is, if you care to.
However, to fit into the decent category one just cannot say they are. You see the proof is in their very being and their actions words and deeds. It is the hurt, sorrow and pain they feel for others. It is that true feeling that grips someone way down deep that brings a tear forth and perhaps a heavy spirit and prompts someone to act. Yes, you know when you experience it and you know when it is the opposite. So please don’t ask me who is decent or not because we all know who they are.
Yes, these are the people that everything lands on because they are the silent and caring ones. The humble and non-abusive and the ones who do everything they are asked to do; the ones that care. Yes, we know them because if you're one of the opposite you do not like them for some reason. That is because they convict you and make your false being show. You have to flee from them. You wonder, “Why can’t they be like the rest of us"? Well they won’t and they never will be because they don't have the same values.
So I sit in judgment on no one but only identify what is decent and what is not. In my opinion the world for the majority is not. So if you fit into that majority, maybe, just maybe you need to look within? We all need to do this as well to keep a check on ourselves. You see it is easy to cross over to that other side. You see most of us long for what decent people have. But as I said, if you can’t shed a tear, do not care for anything but yourself, and only seek self, then neither this article nor anything else will do you any good.
As for the decent people of the world, I guess God had to have some floating around to hold the rest together when they fail and fall. It certainly hurts them a lot to always have to be the object of the rest but they serve the purpose of conviction and maybe, just maybe one of the others will appreciate what they lost? Perhaps they will lend an ear, a hand a hug the next time someone needs it instead of ridicule, anger, abuse and exploitation?
May God bless the few decent souls who live a humble life, silent, sometimes alone but always their life. May God hear this prayer that He help these good people, to give them help and strength to live and survive in a dark world of power, greed, personal ambition and self-love! Amen!
