"For the Common Good", the New Democratic Slogan, but Whose Good?

The new democratic catch phrase is “ For the Common Good" but they fail to identify whom it is that they are talking about? Now don’t get me wrong, I am not any Republican supporter. Just read my other articles.
What do I mean by this? Well take a look at “The Comprehensive Immigration Program" as just one example and you will see just how many prominent Democrats had a hand in this. Yes, they forgot they worked hand in hand with the Republicans. These same Republicans that all of a sudden don’t have the average American in mind, but they the Democrats do. Take a look at NAFTA, other trade agreements and the Global picture and you will see their hand all over, in as they say, Bi-Partisan cooperation.
So if you’re a Floridian you may want to look at alternatives. There are some in the Governors race and Senate race. There are some good ones if you just get onto the Internet and do some research. Get a ballot [they will gladly send you one] and call some of these people and ask them just what they represent and stand for. Check out the Amendments. They sure sound good up front but actually read them [like Amendment 1 that the St. Pete Times Highlighted today] and you may think twice about it and the same with their proposed doubling of the Homestead Exemption. It sure as heck sounds good but why don’t they spell it all out? I answer that in my other articles so maybe you ought to take the time? If you’re against amnesty ask them about what they think about breaking the law and phony I.D. Read some other articles and do your homework.
Now you must remember in my opinion these same people all of a sudden became different now that it is close to Election Day. These same people ignore the scandals they are actually alleged to be involved in but gladly point to others of the other party. If you look at all these adds you start to wonder just who is not involved? These same people in my opinion were involved with giving Korea the capabilities they now have but everyone points toward Mr. Bush. They voted for Iraq and they handled the Global Ideology the same, with priority.
So I have written enough but when you get caught up in the slogans and jargon keep an open mind if in my opinion you are in fact open to anything.
As for me and mine we are going independent and giving them all the boot where we can. When given no option we will boot the incumbent out unless they voted for our interests.

Both of the above will help not only our singular financial woes, but it will also help restimulate our economy when people are no longer trapped by debts that probably shouldn't have existed in the first place. It's a matter of how you prioritize your values. Abortion isn't something that I personally would do, but I've never been in any kind of despondent position. In the larger scheme of things, this is not the highest priority right now, as no one is forced to have one. And because no one is ever forced to have an abortion, it is not genocide by definition. Personally, I place a higher priority on healthcare and poverty at this time. Once we can get this under control, then we can start addressing abortion. But we can always do things to stop abortion anyway through sex education and by promoting abstinence before marriage. But we can't stop this economic crisis without making some big policy changes. So, that is the greater "common good" in my opinion at this time. Not all Obama supporters are pro choice. We just think that there are larger issues effecting more people that needs to be addressed, immediately. And Obama is the one supporting these changes in a more significant way. Please log in to respond to this comment. Thanks Jennifer, I wrote this back in 2006. I have no probelms with your opinions in response. My poor attempt at elaboratingw as that they had an agenda then, they stayed with it and they have one now and will stay with it regardless of what the people would like to see. Best wishes, Robert. Please log in to respond to this comment. Why do you think that? Please log in to respond to this comment.Jennifer if your referring to the issues you elaborated on, then the answer is those issues have been on the table for years. The mode, method, time, cost of implementation all to be determined. Now certainly there is no real definative difference between those who actually control Congress, regardless of the party. Their votes demonstrate that as fact. So their agenda will go forward as it has been planned. It all has been written to for years and not necessarily by me. The real key is to look at what will unfold and what will be hailed as "new". I hope this answers your question? Please log in to respond to this comment.
